Let it run overnight.. Same user count are awaiting patch as before. However, the one user I deleted their service book Desktop [Sync] and resent their service books. Now shows up as applied! Anyone know if there is a way to delete that service book remotely?

I just sent 2.3 to the 186 that have not patched.

We shall see

Currently we have all the servers and workstations patched. We started testing the deployment of the BES patch and ran into some issues. We are running BES 4.1 in a Domino environment.

1. Creating and using a share on the BES server the patch never gets to the devices. All permissions seem to be setup right. Fixed by deleting cache

2. Gets stuck on Patch not found and continues to retry.

Any suggestions?

Also can someone explain the network routes that the patching process takes? Once the patch is installed is it going pack to the internet to RIM to determine the device and then download the correct one based on device?

My 2 cents

Make sure the patch is set to Optional. Also at least in my environment when I assigned the software config to a group it never worked. I had to highlight all users and assign the software configuration to them that way.

I would probably roll out DST 2.3, also. I'm down to 137 not upgraded out of 892

It's time like this I'm glad we have a small org, the Outlook tool is very simple to run, and all the patching of workstations and servers went fine. I have a few blackberry's that are MIA but I'll patch those locally via USB cable tomorrow.

Mission Accomplished.

My update seemed to go well. Now I just have to figure out why the BB users can't send.

Ok, figured it out. My test BB users Ad account didn't have the the rights for the adminbes account. I contacted one of the real users and they were able to send.

Whew!

Now I can go enjoy the rest of the day.

Default Issue after DST Patch

Just wondering if anybody else has run into this. I ran the DST patches last night, everything worked well, Blackberry's are all responding perfect, but in the Blackberry Manager on the BES, the last fwd time and last sent time is not updating anymore. I have hit refresh, and still no update, any ideas?

Thanks in advance...

Mark

I have this problem a lot of the time on one of my 4.0.6.12s (and even when I was still on SP3). Restarting the GUI fixes it and there is probably a fix somewhere but as it is intermittent, I haven't been bothered to look. If you do find an easy fix, let me know.

FWIW, this hasn't made much difference. I still have a bunch of awaitings and errors and since doing -invokesync, my patched numbers have only risen by 1 per BES

The new dstquery with invokesync worked for me for a FEW of my handhelds, I still have 2-3 that I'm patching via USB and that'll be it for this craziness for me.

Thanks for all the help in this thread in others, hopefully I'll get to meet some of you at WES and shake your hands.

There is a new patch manager version 2.2 out there. I spoke with our RIM Support Guy and he recommends installing the 2.2 version over the 2.5 version as it fixes some reported problems.

So where did you put the magical -invokesync command in your string?
This is a sample of my command line. Where would you put it?
"C:\Documents and Settings\blackberry\Desktop\query\DST2007Query.exe " -n *SERVER NAME* -db besmgmt -b all -OL "C:\Documents and Settings\blackberry\Desktop\query"

Thanks, man. See yas as WES.

Just tag it on at the end, after the output file. At least that is what I did. Maybe that's why I see bugger all change

Thanks bro. Now I just gotta wait a few hours to see what impact it has. Oh, and I restarted by Sync Service as stated in the release notes.

Happy so far:
Awaiting Patch = 20
Error = 6
Helper not installed = 9

ALL THE REST ARE PATCHED! Interestingly enough, the Awaiting Patch folks (IMHO) are patched correctly. I looked at the applications and modules for each one. They show as installed and Up To Date on the server side. /shrug
Go figure.

at the very end -invokesync. My handhelds were all over the place, many patched fine, one required a manual restart, one was stuck on patch mgr running... Again I'm glad we are a small company.

All the trouble handhelds I just plugged in to my own PC and did the USB install from the website.

I feel the pain of you larger blackberry orgs. Good luck.

Anytime man. Yeah most of my "errors" are actually fine and like you, I think most of the awaitings are done. Remember that the Up to Date on the h/h config just means the helper is on though, not the patch.

Hey thanks man! I have only got 300 and am seriously feeling the pain and depression (and I don't even get involved with the user side!). I have got no idea how the 2000+ guys are not punching people by now RIM need to buy some serious beer at WES
