Hi Folks

i work for a large corporation running models 8703 and 8130 (which is what i use).

I have had a problem that my tech support guy says also crosses over to the 8703.
there are times when i try to use my blutooth headset (motorola h700) that it fails to intialise and allow the voice dialing to occur.
My tech guy tells me its a know rIM error and that its well documented on many fourms. well i have serached here and failed to find any notice of this.

Can someone point me to the thread, if there is one.

Have others had this problem ?

I can manually fix it by removing the battery which of course is an unaccpetable long term fix.
With the new laws in nova Scotia requiring the use of voice dialing and headsets while driving , this feature is important.

This is an operating system problem with the 8130. I can 't recall which OS my 8130 had out of the box, but when it was in the holster, the bluetooth would activate the voice dial command, but would not dial the number. There are other documented cases of this happening in these forums - that is how I found that it was an OS problem. But I understand your pain... searching for it can be hit or miss.

I upgraded to OS 4.3.0.97 and have not had this problem since.

i'm using OS v4.3.0.66
i'm getting a new 8130 (for other reasons) next week. perhaps the new OS will be on it and my problem will go away .

Good luck with the new 8130. If it does not come with a newer OS, then come back to the BBF. The OS and install instructions can be found in the FAQs.
