I think if Kai wanted the link posted publicly he'd have already done so. I'd suggest sending another PM OR an email to the email address he's posted. Maybe he missed the first one as he's been very responsive to me and others here.

Thanks for allowing me to take part in the test. It looks very promising! The OTA link still doesn't work for me, so I just installed it via the Desktop Manager. No big.
I can log into Google Talk fine, but...when either sending a message or receiving one, all I get's a blank screen. If I move the scroll wheel, it alternates on each click between a blank screen and showing the blue bar with the name and status of the person I'm chatting with.
If I go and view the chat history, I see every message that came and went. But otherwise, it's blank.
Any ideas?
Edit: Oh yeah, TMo/8700g/v4.1.0.284.

A few people have reported the blank screen problem.
There is a bug in some of the older BB OS version. The problem goes away after upgrading to the latest BB OS for your device.

I'd rather not update to .346 if at all possible, because it significantly handicaps the performance when I use Pulse. (For more info, see http://brainmurmurs.com/products/pul....php#os-impact.) The effect is quite huge, so I'd really like to avoid updating the OS until RIM comes out with something less broken in that regard.
Any ideas?

not sure, there may be something we can do, though it's hard for us to debug when we don't have the devices that exhibit this problem...
can you shoot an email to ? we may be able to try a debugging build

We just had to do a server patch. So some of you may have been logged off. You should be okay to get back on now. The JiveTalk client automatically tries a reconnect when this happens, though we had to bring down the server for a few minutes.
In the next week or so, we'll be upgrading some of our server equipment as the beta program is gaining more traction than we had anticipated a week ago. I will try to give out some notice before this happens.
If you would like to be notified before a planned server cycling event or when a new build is ready. Please send an email to with "SUBSCRIBE - JIVETALK BETA" in the subject header, and we will shoot you an email before such outages happen.
Thanks for your patience.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)
I've within profiles to ring when receiving messages in jivetalk. No ringtone seems to play when get a new message, just the popup screen indicating new message. Any thoughts? Using new .18 build. Thx

hmm, you definitely configured the "JiveTalk - New IM" alert within your active profile to ring? are you getting an LED or vibrate?

Did you change the top line in the config screen from NONE to RING. I had that problem at first.

Yes correct.I just noticed I had "out of holster" set to "none". Just changed to "tone". This probably why my ring tone didn't play. Duh! Thx for the quick response.

I have encountered being log off the whole day today and it is happening now again as well.
different error messages showing up.
this time it shows "open tunnel - max time out"
then "System error - An error has occurred, you have been logged off, please try logging in again"

installed this yesterday, looks like a beautiful application - but i'm not able to connect - this isn't a apn issue as my other apps work fine (that rely on apn for tunneling).
is the server having trouble? i get a server 503 error - anyone else able to connec today?
