hey ascnt,
I just checked the tmobile germany site and they have Bold. I wanted to know since you are in Germany also that if I get a Bold from Germany will it work flawlessly here in US with TMobile. I might have to unlock it so that I will do but what I am saying that if you get a bold here from AT&T you have problems in using browser and some other things so you have to unbrand it or something like that. So rather than doing all this if we get it from germany then do we have to just unlock it use it here flawlessly in US or will still have problems with the browser and other stuff just like with the one with at&t.
What do you suggest?
I am about to get one from here in AT&T but after reading this post I checked the tmobile germany site and they have bold.
Also if I buy the AT&T bold here I can get it unlocked to use with tmobile but how can I debrand it? Do you know? Does debrand means that the data, browser, emails and everything will work fine.
If I just unlock it and use it with tmobile will the emails work or no?
please help?
Thanks

Guys I still have not understand the difference between all the browsers and when I should use each..
My Bold has Wind PLUS (My carrier), Hotspot browser & Internet browser.. I assume Hotspot should be selected when on WiFi, but i'm usually on 3g/GPRS and don't know which option to select in order to work.. Also getting often XML errors.. Is that an issue?

I have had my Bold for 5 days now. My prob is when I watch a video the phone reboots. It does seem to only be when I fast forward the video. The clip is a full episode of Entourage and it is stored on mem card. just wondering if this is a known issue and if there is a fix? Thanks for any help!

Question for ACNST: A number of users here are beta testing operating systems from various carriers. I'm sticking with the 167 that came with my phone because there are, apparently, various bugs with each iteration. Do you know when RIM will finally release an improved opsys that will deal with battery life and some of the other issues? Thank you.

2: i have a "L" theme, with messages and calendar vertically on the left hand side of the screen. is there a theme (free) always "L" but without messsages, just calendar? as i have many entrys in the calendar and this theme only shows me 2 of them

2 options:
1) Hold down the red 'End' button.
2) Click the 'Turn Power Off' icon.

Solution 1 will still answer a call even though it told me it was turning off. -Migs

Solution 2 even with "full shutdown" leaves my red LED blinking and wakes up awful fast, so that doesn't work either.
The ONLY solution I have found is to remove the battery.
Any ideas? -Migs

Are you sure you're doing it correctly? When I do either option, my bold is completely shutdown and all calls go straight to voicemail. You can tell that everything is turned off, because when you turn it back on, you can see that it's restoring the connection to the network.

I'm pretty sure, because it presents me the options in shutdown and even informs me that I can touch a key to cancel. (Full power off) The red button also doesn't work because it will wake to a call. -Migs

Then maybe there is some service book from your carrier that is preventing this. Both options will completely turn off the phone for me. No calls or messages come through.

Hi Pink2:
Yes, but that too isn't a complete shut down, turn off, power off.
I have it do that at night.
Thanks for your input!
