For what its worth (not much). I spoke with a Verizon store in Atlanta this afternoon. He told me that the "unofficial" word is that the retail stores would be getting them the second week of September.

I also talked to a VZW rep here in Atlanta at a Circuit City. She called her data rep who claims early October.
As to the other shots being fired back and forth I guess we'll see who's right come Monday. I can't dicsount the BG and since he's been spot on with his other dates but I'm getting a little skeptical. I'm more than happy to be wrong if I have a shiny new phone in my hands Monday evening or Tuesday via FedEx if it's online only...

I NEVER said Aug 28th was the release date I said I had heard that date but made a point to not confirm it specifically just that the device would launch around then, that was roc a fellas launch date, and he also said there is a 2nd blackberry with CDMA/GSM and people took that out of context and said that was launching Aug 28th...
