what i have noticed is now when you go into messages and seperate the sms and mms folders... a icon will appear..you can keep ur messages forever now if you like ..dont remember seen that on the old os .. and also if you hold down alt and hit the enter key ( if u have multi languages ) a short cut will appear and you can pick another language..this is what i have noticed playing with the new upgrade ..

Are you downloading the correct OS? There are two versions on the same page. Download this one:

wow sounds like there are a lot of problems with this upgrade.

I'm still reluctant to upgrade to the rogers' 0.71 version (i'm on rogers). Seems like the cons currently outweigh the pros, even with the BACKLIGHT option now being available!

Btw, when you upgrade OS, do you lose Phonebook, etc?

Okay now that I have played with the new software I have noticed a few bugs. Please do post back if there are fixes

When I pull the battery to reboot, it starts the web browser then errors out

I fixed that by going into the service books and deleteing the tmo instant messaging software (THIS THAT THE CORRECT FIX)

when playing preloaded rings tones, the device gives a Java error
is there any fix for that

whats up with the blue and pink zen themes, I cant locate those on my device.

Thanks

Here's the deal for people on BES that have DST issues after updating:

Problem (Users on BES)
The BlackBerry device did not display the correct time for Daylight Saving Time (DST). At 2 AM on 11 March 2007, the BlackBerry device clock remained at 2 AM instead of changing to 3 AM.

Cause
The time zone database on the BlackBerry device does not have the updated DST information. A BlackBerry device running BlackBerry Device Software 4.2 or higher does not have the 2007 DST patch installed and is activated on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server running software versions prior to 4.0 Service Pack 6 or 4.1 Service Pack 3. If the BlackBerry Device Software is upgraded to a version that already contains the new DST information (that is, BlackBerry Device Software 4.2 Service Pack 1 or higher), or if another BlackBerry device that has been updated with the new DST information is activated for the same BlackBerry device user, this problem may occur. The previous DST information was backed up from the unpatched BlackBerry device. When the time zone information is restored, it overwrites the new DST information in the BlackBerry Device Software time zone database with the previous DST information.
Note: This can be confirmed by trying to manually set the clock to 2:01 AM on 11 March 2007. If the correct DST tables are present, this should not be possible.

Workaround
Complete the following steps:

1. Remove the BlackBerry device user from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Note: When prompted to remove all existing BlackBerry data, select Yes.
2. Connect the BlackBerry device to the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
3. On the BlackBerry device, go to Options > Advanced Options > Service Books.
4. Delete all Desktop [<service_book_ID>] or BlackBerry [<service_book_ID>] service books.
5. In BlackBerry Desktop Manager, click Backup and Restore, then follow the on-screen prompts to back up the BlackBerry device data.
6. Click Backup and Restore again.
7. Select Advanced, then delete the Time Zone Patch entry.
8. Perform a security wipe of the BlackBerry device.
9. Click Backup and Restore again and restore the backup file created in step 5.
10. Add BlackBerry device user to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

This is a previously reported issue that has been escalated internally to our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available. Updates to resolve DST 2007 problems will be posted as soon as they are available on the BlackBerry web site.

Additional Information
The time zone database cannot be cleared using BlackBerry Desktop Manager. A security wipe is required. For more information on the impact of DST changes in 2007 on BlackBerry solutions, go to BlackBerry.

Well I woke up this morning and did a reset on my phone, that seemed to work. I have no idea why but Opera connected, life is good.

HOWEVER, when playing some ringtones I still get this error ...Uncaught Exception: java.lang.ClassCastException.

Im also on Robbers - no probs what so ever.
Just make sure you go to your BIS and resend your service books. (https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=rogers)
this OS is almost like my OSX..... Real sweet...

Make sure you do a backup before u start the new OS upload.
When u run the new OS it will do a back up - but i like 2 have an extra one just in case.
I had a sml prob after the OS was done - i just went back 2 my "old" (20 min old...) BU file and all was good.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Upgrade works great here. On tmobile.

Super quick, a lot faster then the other os. Backlight option finally! Not to mention the new suretype. Lightning quick as well.

I didn't have the browser issue either when I updated.

I echo velcrohead.

I think I have better call connection through spotty areas -- not as likely to cut out or lose the call.

Same here, no problems so far. Very quick and so far everything works like it did before the update.

My favorite update is that stanby kicks in a good half a second after i hold the mute key... can't tell you how i used to hate having to hold that button for more then a second.

I assume there is not. I don't see the option under the Browse to use it like there is for JavaScript.. and also when I get new voice mails from CallWave the link it has in the email uses Flash and it still does not work.
