I generally have too much other stuff in my pocket to slip a Storm in bare. I use a pouch case like this one:

5 ITEMS ACCESSORY PACK FOR BLACKBERRY 9500 9550 STORM - eBay (item 220334298601 end time Dec-30-08 18:59:29 PST)

I linked that cause it is one that I bought in a combo deal, but they are even cheaprer by themselves on ebay. Also ordered a black silicone case and a clip case but they haven't got here yet.

But never sure whether it should be screen facing in or out?
Or whether there is a right/wrong way

Screen should face towards your body.

FBuzin, be very careful with the pouch, that is the type that is included with the phone in the UK and if you are not careful can 'flick' the buttons off.
I am on my second Storm because of this.

The sweet spot for the magnet is on the back somewhere... I haven't experimented to figure out where exactly, but I know it's on the back because if I set my storm down face-up on top of my OEM sleeve case (with the back against the case), my storm goes into sleep mode.

I use a full InvisibleShield by ZAGG and slip it into the OEM sleeve like the one FBuzin mentioned so that I can carry it in my back pocket -- I'm not a holster/belt clip guy.

I would definitely recommend the InvisibleShield (or something similar -- I loved the BodyGuardz I used on my last BB) above all else. By far my #1 accessory for protecting my devices, and makes for fantastic resell value!

Has anyone compared the OEM Blackberry Storm Leather Holster model HDW-18969-001 to the OEM Blackberry Storm (non leather) Holster model HDW-19819-001? I can't post links yet because I haven't reached 10 posts otherwise I would have included them.

They are both leather.

According to many websites, the HDW-19819-001 is synthetic leather and the HDW-18969-001 is real leather. If you go look at the Storm cases on ShopBlackberry.com (RIM's website), you'll see that the description of the HDW-18969-001 mentions leather and the HDW-19819-001 does not. If I had reached 10 posts, I would post links.

That last post was my 10th post so here are the links.

HDW-19819-001 (The first link does not mention leather and the next 2 links say synthetic leather)
BlackBerry Accessories Store - Product Detail
BlackBerry Thunder 9500, Storm 9530 Synthetic Holster w/ Swivel Belt Clip - MSGDigital
BlackBerry Synthetic Swivel Holster for BlackBerry 9530 Storm

HDW-18969-001 (These links all mention leather)
BlackBerry Accessories Store - Product Detail
OEM Leather Holster for Blackberry 9530, Blackberry HDW-18969-001, 9530 OEM Leather Holster, Blackberry 9530 OEM Leather Holster, HDW-18969-001
BlackBerry Storm 9530 Leather Holster w/ Swivel Belt Clip (Black) - MSGDigital

And why would Blackberry make 2 very similar leather holsters with swivel clips? That makes no sense so obviously one is leather and the other isn't.

i use a plastic molded fitted casing. Very glad that I did purchase it because my phone has been dropped 3 times by family members. So far not a scratch! Very lucky.

I use the Blackberry OEM Leather Belt Pouch and the Blackberry OEM Leather Pouch. Both work great and do their jobs well.

I use the plastic hard shell sold in the Verizon Store (they have clear, green, and pink). I love it!

I purchased my hard shell case from the Verizon Store as well. Mine is silver on top, and dark grey on the bottom.

Also, I purchased a belt clip from Best Buy. Since the Storm is now larger because of the hard shell case, I purchased a larger belt clip and it fits perfectly. It even shuts off when inserted into the belt clip case

I'm liking it so far!!

I purchased my rubber form fitting sleeve at the Verzion store. I slapped on a adhesive screen protector as well. All is well!

I disagree that the rubber sleeve takes away from the natural form. The sleeve is form fitting and still showcases the phone well.

Besides, the Storm is unusually heavy for a cell phone in general. A brick compared to the I-phone. Hopefully Blackberry will continue to explore into the touch screen realm and develop and lighter model.

Why in the world does the top stick out?! Exposing the camera and everything. I don't understand. I just got my Storm last night, and the VZW rep said the case like in your link was the one for the Storm. I went from the Curve, and the leather case it came with it is perfect. I know the population is divided (case vs. no case) but I HAVE to have a case, can't stand it without one -- and I don't understand how there is not one that gets the job done like the black leather Curve case that came in the box for free. It's just odd......

Does the top stick way out? I just know that portion that sticks out will get scratched by keys and change in my pants pocket over time. Anyone have any idea if there's one that gets the job done like the black leather one that came free in the box with the Curve?

All I have to say is ..... Seidio! Seidio! Seidio!

They make near perfect cases and holders. They cost a little bit more that the OEM stuff at Verizon, but are well worth it.

I had an OEM case for my 8830; 3 of them in 1 year. The stupid belt clip wears out and always spins, plus the clip will actually break, eventually.

So, again ... Seidio! Seidio! Seidio!
