If you haven't already done so try two things in order to initiate the BES activation:
1) Reboot device (battery pull); and
2) Connect device using Desktop Manager while on Corporate network, either directly or via VPN.

I presume they did not include SprintTV despite the fact
that it works on the 8830 with 4.5 AND everything plans
have unlimited coverage for it.
I am using SprintTV from 8330 (same screen size) on .135
but would have liked to see an updated version.

With the 127 load, I had cosmetic issues, app issues and I had to redo all my settings. With this load, everything looks as it should, my apps are working without issue and all my settings were saved. A much nicer upgrade.

Thanks Randy. I have it downloaded. Guess I'll do the install.

mriff, on Sprint I notice that I now have mms capability. Don't know if that came now or in the last version. Memory leak is slightly better but not optimal.

Upgraded. Such an easy process. I can't really see any major difference from 127 though. I've got a little more free memory. About 16 mb.
Steve, I can't answer your question as I came from 4.2 to 4.5 just recently.

I used the generic upgrade and the MMS started working after sprint came out with the official. My question is if anyone still on 4.2 has gotten mms?

Working like a charm. I don't really notice any difference from 127 though.

Down to 14.5 M Free; used Navigator once yesterday and it apparently did not
release the memory that it used; email & web surfing do not seem to cause the
memory leakage as much..

Installed 4.5.0.135 on 8830 WE (Verizon) and everything going OK.
Accidentally deleted BBerry Maps, which was working with the GPS.
Reinstalled it via download to DM (Version 1.2) but the option to work with GPS is now gone ?
How can I reinstall the BBerry Maps app that used the internal GPS ?
Do I need to reinstall the entire OS again ?
During the install, does it allow the option to just add this application ?
I have used Google Maps, with cell location, and was going to delete that to free up some memory.
Thanks for your help.

Should I Be Concerned??? (Memory Leak)
I loaded v4.5.0.135 (Platform 3.4.0.28) this morning.
I've been keeping an eye on my File Free numbers since the upgrade and here's the highlights:
8:10AM - File Free 17337044
8:54AM - File Free 15408044
9:23AM - File Free 14491688
So I'm going from 16.53 MB down to 13.82 in just over an hour. I'm not as savvy as a lot of people on here and I'm not sure if this is a normal shift in memory or if this is indicative of a leak.
In this time I have taken a couple of calls, added a few people to my contacts, received and responded to a couple of text messages and used the browser to check my Gmail account.
Can some one tell me if I should be concerned or not? Is my testing method the best way to look for memory leaks?

Those are all normal background apps (not positive about BBAlerts, since I don't use it [I use BerryBuzz instead... ]) -- they were are running in .127, too!

Okay, I decided to gamble and go with this update. Downsides so far, I lost the World Edition App (hotels, flight, weather) Anyone know a site it can be downloaded from?
Any theme not a standard horrible one does not work well anymore ( colors off, different views in different screens etc. and most of the fonts seem off in size/type (even after I went through and manually reset them)
Going to see if I can get used to the differences before I try to figure out how to revert to an earlier version.

- As far as the "World Edition App", are you referring to WorldMate Live? If so, you can download the latest version directly from http://wmlive.com/bb_download.
- As far as 3rd-party themes, contact the developer(s) directly. If you upgraded from OS v4.2.x to v4.5.0.135, you most likely will need to download the 4.5-specific version of the themes.
Hope this helps...

visortgw, thanks for that link, I had assumed it may be part of the Verizon build of the OS (perhaps explaining the horrible delay in Verizon releasing updates)
I will deal with the themes, life is such!

Activation hangs after update
I've been fighting this all day, finally decided to ask for some help.
I had the Bell OS and then upgraded this AM to the Sprint .201. After the upgrade was done, I went to activate on my BES and it hung at Activating Services.
I've tried downgrading back to the Bell (it hangs now). I've tried upgrading to the Sprint and wiping the phone (preserving 3rd party). I've tried activating through Desktop Manager. Still no go.
Any ideas?
TIA
