I have a Telus 9530, and went with gsm-tools and they could NOT unlock it with the USB unlock, he did refund my money via paypal...only after I raised the issue with paypal/ebay.

sorry man,

I concur.....
I have been on the phone with them a few times...and I know they are hard at work with this thing trying to get it to work.....
The communication between Horizon and I has been great....and the wait is not a stretch...the 67.00 is not either.....I have faith that they will get it done..
crossing my fingers for a code before my trip on Sunday!

So if these people can unlock your phone successfully, can you use it on Rogers if you have a sim card?

I am unclear as to what the advantages of unlocking are?

Yes, it means I could use a Rogers (or Fido) SIM in the phone.

Some of us are just gonna hold our breath (past the blue face point) and wait for you to generate our unlock codes. ;)

You will NEVER find anyone at Telus that will give you an unlock code. Teir policy is for you to use their SIM while roaming, period. That's what happens when you're virtually the only game in town.

Oh, and it's not "illegal" either. Sheesh!!! Most phones can be purchased in an unlocked (or never locked) state. It was just his way of sidestepping the request. He should have said, "Telus' official stand on this issue is not to give out the unlock codes."

I called...
Being a platinum client...I figured they'd so something...
NADA>...
They'd sooner set themselves on fire then give us the code....
My guy has yet to supply....
I really think it's becuase there is one guy at telus who is doing it for all of the guys claiming to be able to unlock and that guy himself is probably FOS.....so I doubt we'll see a code for a long time.....
Im writing this from Washington DC waiting for my flight to FLA...
I really really only wanted to carry my storm but im still stuck with my Cdn BB and my US BB pearl....
