I'm feeling a bit adventurous today, so I'm taking the plunge on my two-week-old BlackBerry 8320. Before upgrading, I did two things with the media card: (1) Searched and destroyed all the .dat files and (2) Took it out of the BB. I also reverted a few things back to defaults (wallpapers, ringtones, etc.). Wish me luck!
Update (7/30/2008, 8:19 PM CDT)
The upgrade was successful. Vital stats:
- Free Memory = 20.630 MB
- No duplicate T-Zones icons
- Getting uppercase "EDGE"
- Google Maps (2.2.0) works with tower triangulation
- Facebook does NOT work -- it is not on the applications list even though it is installed.
Update (7/31/2008, 11:11 AM CDT)- Successfully associated phone to University's wireless network (features 802.1x authentication!)
- Reloaded Facebook app, and it works!
- Can watch YouTube videos! (I rickrolled myself)
- Memory usage holding relatively steady at 19-20 MB.
