The screen rotation is *so* much snappier. Haven't had enough time to get impressions on anything else just yet.

Updated this morning. I messed with it for a few minutes and here is what stuck out immediately.
The screen rotation is greatly improved.
The screen responds better, allowing for faster typing. The device doesn't have to "catch-up" as much when you're power typing now. That was my biggest complaint about it and it looks like were getting there.

Interesting that you have to have an Internet connection (on the computer) for the update to work. I know this sounds kind of goofy but since my wireless was off (power saving) so I couldn't figure out why it wasn't trying to update Core Apps until I went to Google it and learned my Internet link was down...
duh.
RE: App Center and Browser - you'll have to re-send the Service Books (re-register with the network). Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table > [MENU] > Register Now

Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table. Click the menu key and select Register Now. That should do the trick.

I can't seem to upgrade the OS - it upgraded the "Core Apps" but not the system software.
Short of a wipe and reinstall, what the hell can I do?
(this is my 7th BBerry - some of which I've recovered from a brick - so I'm frustrated)

You installed to OS to your computer correct? If so, reboot your computer, then try to install the OS again.

What I find odd is that I don't seem to have a screen rotation issue on 4.7.0.65. I was curious if the rebooting itself bug has been worked out.

It's totally device specific. Some have reboot issues and other don't.

Update:
1. I had to uninstall and reinstall all the BlackBerry stuff on my computer. No wipe/reinstall required on the Storm. Word to the wise (people with older BBerries): install Desktop Manager on a new computer or make certain you get rid of all the stuff an uninstall leaves behind.
2. The screen rotation improvement is most evident in graphic/data-intensive applications (i.e. Google Maps and the browser). For other stuff (i.e. email) it's less obvious.

My download and install of this update was a breeze! I use a Mac, but my husband uses a PC, so I used his computer, and all worked well. From start to finish I was done in 45 minutes. The lag is better, and I can now connect via bluetooth to my Mac to connect to the internet (I have the Broadband access on my Verizon account). I was unable to do this before, so thanks so much for the update!

several hours after my update and nothing has slowed down. everything continues to be incredible smooth and responsive, Storm wouldn't have had the rocky ride (via critics) if it shipped with this version. now its time to bring on the apps!

Are you sure your phone automatically re-activated with your BES server? I had thought mine re-activated as well. When I went to send a message from my BES account, it wasn't there and went to one of my BIS accounts by default.
I had to reset an activation password and then re-connect to my BES server. All is well now but I am not sure if I am an isolated incident or this is to be expected during an upgrade. I seem to recall with past OS upgrades, I always had to re-activate, don't remember for sure since it has been awhile.

It's well worth it to update your phone to .75. Media Center has been improved, camera lag in now a fraction of what it was (it's still there don't get me wrong). Portrait/Landscape transitions are really fast now (except when the keyboard is onscreen, but it's still faster even then still). I'm still playing with it, I hope it takes care of the random reboots I've been having...
Again, it's well worth it to take the time and update your phone....

The new version loaded with no problems. The Storm has no more lag and the accelerometer works faster, much faster. Apps such as BB Maps loads really quick now. Very pleased with the update.

The device does have to reactivate after an upgrade. If you have DM setup properly on a work computer it will start automatically. Otherwise you need a password from IT.

My best guess is that it needs a MAPI connection to consider itself connected. I did the upgrade connected to my laptop with Outlook connected via rpc/https. DM had a connection to the server and I didn't have to assign a new activation password. About 30 seconds after the upgrade completed, an enterprise activation started automatically.
