What version 4.5 and what version Empower are you using??? I just checked Empower download and it shows 3.0.72.7, which was the same version that didn't work for me and others on 4.5.0.55. I'll download in case they updated software without changing the version, but I'm not hopeful.
(I typed a reply once but don't think I clicked submit so if this is a duplicate, I'm sorry.)

My OS is the latest one posted in the 8300 forum for the 8330(removed the bbdimension themes, so I can't access my about screen). Emp pro version is the one you said-3.0.72.7. Strange though, it isn't consistent with which emails it is the default viewer. Two emails from same person to my BES account-one was still native os html and one was displayed with empower.

Tried again - downloaded 3.0.72.7 - 1st 2 msgs from Empower were formatted in Empower viewer. Other mesgs on my BB previously were all loaded in native viewer (despite Empower options). So far, all subsequent msgs have also been native viewer. I'm BIS so possible Empower works with BES & not BIS. I wonder if the person from Empower who sent u msg saying 4.5 works understands that it really doesn't work consistently - actually most of the time not working would be more accurate for my experience. I'm also curious if they consider 3.0.72.7 the (latest) version that works.

I got a response from Empower Support saying the program is NOT compatable with 4.5, and that an upgrade should be forthcomeing (This was some time ago though).

Yeah, not fully working. Bes emails are displaying about half the time in empower and half on native 4.5 html. All bis emails are showing with empower though. Just sent Ani a message, will post after I get response.

Originally it wasn't compatible. Then when you checked for an update, it recognized (as it does now) that you're using 4.5 and also shows a 4.5 version download. If the official party line was that it's not compatible with 4.5, then why do they have a 4.5 download.

Great Question. This should be answered by them.

Not even a statement that they're waiting for 4.5 to be released in North America or something stupid like that.

I removed as well. Too bad. I liked the Empower app. (sniff)

Just got this response from empower, did it, and all emails, bes or bis, are displayed in empower, just the way I like. -
Thank you for writing to us. You need to set Empower as the Default Viewer. For this, please goto Email Settings and set 'Enable HTML /
Rich Content' to No for the native viewer. And then goto Empower Options and set 'Set Empower as Default Viewer' to yes.
Thanks & Regards,
Team Empower,

IT WORKS -- Thx kjjb!!
I guess Team Empower should include a text file or send you an email message with this information when you download or update the software. It would have prevented us all from being very frustrated.

Attachments still create a problem
I am still unable to access the menu function for any email with an attachment using the newest version of empower. Otherwise the program works well. I have a Verizon 8130 with 4.5.0.56

Empower responded to me last night and said that the problems I'm having (the same as most here) were resolved when with the newest version. I responded that they clearly were not, since I and others are still having problems. We'll see what the response is. Fingers crossed.

FYI they had already sent this email to me (and I had already set my BB this way anyway), but still having issues.

I would just say continue to try to work through the issues with them since they seem like they are working hard to make sure the bugs are worked out, and because you probably paid for the app, so stick with it and I'm sure it will get resolved.

4.5 html doesn't give you any options other than to automatically download images or not. If you choose to not download images, you still get a big ugly image placeholder. Empower can strip the images completely, allows you to change fonts, font sizes, backgrounds for both header and body. Also gives options for showing full or partial headers, full or limited attachment lists and removing extra line breaks. I don't see ANY options in the 4.5 html. Am I missing something there?

I also really like the ability to have different coloured headers based on which email address a message comes in to. It helps me to identify work vs personal messages.
In addition, even though without Empower, 4.5 messages show in HTML, they're really not as clean as viewing with Empower. There's something intangible and hard to describe about the difference in message appearance between 4.5 and Empower. Perhaps someone can paste in screen shots with and without Empower vs 4.5.

Just go back to the empower ota download site. It's registered to your PIN, so if you've already paid for it, it will download and automatically register to your device again.
