Got it all staged and will throw on a test box for a week. Considering the delay this had I'm going to let it sit for a little bit before updating production. Besides most of the new stuff needs OS 4.5 and no ETA from any carrier on that.

Good point, without the new device OS many of the features won't be available like HTML, Free/busy lookup.

I just got the d/l finished.
I have no choice, but do it now, so we can get more users on it.

Finished, that was easy to go from Pro 4.1.4 to BES 4.1.5
Only took 10 min with 30 users.

Did the upgrade and now none of my BB's are connecting to the server. Emails aren't coming through on the devices. I can send PIN messages, service books and IT policy but that's it.
Did I miss something?

HTML is not available in SP5, it was pulled. You're right though, it's not too useful an update until OS 4.5 is released. You could still make use of the SNMP monitoring service though.

1) Restart your BES
2) Search here and at RIM's BTSC

Thanks hdawg. After freaking myself out, I un-installed SP5, re-installed the prior version and everything just came back up.
Needless to say, I think I'll just stick with the version I'm on for now...go home and have a stiff drink.
Thanks for your replies though!

You lucked out on that ... there could have been schema changes to the DB that would have prevented going back an SP ... but hopefully you had a backup of the db

Is your BES running in Exchange? If so, just say the server crashed. No-one will question you....

Downloading now, snail speed - 26kB/s ... eh. 5 minutes left, gonna install it now.
Already hooked up my device to 4.5, wondering how it will be ...
Finger's crossed.

Good one, just tell them that IS went down in flames ... so you had to reboot the EVS

So it doesn't look like there are major SQL updates that won't prevent us from reinstalling SP4 as a backout plan?

Doh...
Gents (and occasional ladies...)
To keep story a bit short: got error 1714 from Windows while trying to upgrade (couldn't remove previous version). Bad luck, so T-support. Got me the login for FTP to download the full BES Domino 4.1.5. Which I did, but... error 1714 again at the next install attempt.
Done a little research, and found this work around:
1) open regedt32
2) goto HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products
3) have a look for the BES entry
4) first export and then delete the key (we don't wonna loose anything, no ?)
5) open the full installer for BES 4.1.5
6) enjoy...
Got 4.5 on my Curve as well, so let's test and play...
Have a nice one. Cheers...
Peter
