Does anyone know what 'file free' size should be in using this OS to it's best speed? I'm just under 15000000 bytes and it seems to move pretty slow. Going to do hard reset to see if that works - if not will have to delete some stuff.

If UMA is important to you, I wouldn't install .37, it wont establish a UMA connection.

I got to be honest with you, I really don't know what UMA is. I mean I have heard of it mentioned here but have never seen the option on my BB. The only option I have ever used was EDGE. I hardly ever use WIFI... but that's just me.

If you don't use WiFi then you won't get UMA. UMA allows you to make phone calls, send sms and get email, etc. over the wifi connection. It's great if you are in an area of spotty cell coverage but can access a wifi connection.

I think that in some markets some TMO is gearing up for 4.5 faster than others, this leads to this sporadic UMA. This is just a hunch.

We had two people in New Jersey...one with UMA and one without. I don't think that's it. It's just an OS issue and we'll have to wait for it to be resolved.

Thanks John. I should play around with WIFI more but just haven't had the need. I'll check out your post on how to optimize my BB. Cool :0)

OK - good enough. Except if I put 4.5.0.18 on it, UMA works fine. Is T-Mobile smart enough to determine that I am running 4.5.0.37 and block that, but not 4.5.0.18?
I believe it is bad code or a bad certificate.

UMA just appeared on my phone, as well. I did all the recommended procedures and hadn't been able to get it to work. I was away from phone for about an hour, just sat down, and there it is, UMA.
so as I'm typing this I look down at screen, and the darn thing says EDGE again. did a wi-fi diagnostics and it shows all green checks for UMA. . now it's back to UMA.. .. now EDGE.. literaly I am typing this close to real time. it's on EDGE (no pun intended) at the moment. working or not, the UMA functio is at best very unstable in .37
However, all of my 3rd party apps are working without a problem : Viigo/Tango WES preview, Facebook, yahoo Aim and win. Live messengers, all work well. I am running this with the free, but very awesome precision Zen them from eveek.com. Still waiting to test the wirless signal out in the open in some areas that .18 just stunk on. anyone else see any improvements here yet?

What happens if you uncheck the mobile network in Manage Connections? Will the UMA stay then?

John, VERY interesting. YES, the second I unchecked mobile network, UMA appeared. It of course seems much faster on the web as well. Now what?
