Yes, it retains that. It's the way it works in every release, thus far.

*Sigh*, I was afraid of that - that's the single most annoying thing for 4.5 for me now, everything else seems to be working pretty nicely with .69 here. SURELY they don't mean for it to always work that way, I hope! Or there would be no reason to have the "always download images" option under options in the first place.

My experience (I seem to have posted a few times now) is that it does "always" download repeated images from prior emails or say a weekly email newsletter. The new images are not there, but the ones I previously say, automatically download.
I guess it is all in how one reads the question.

I guess I want it to work the way every single other HTML email client I'm aware of works. If I set a setting to "always download images" than I'd prefer that it always downloads images. The previous images showing up but not new ones is of very dubious value, IMHO. What that means is that PART of the images in weekly newsletters and the like show up, but you still have to go through the two step process, no matter what. If ALL the images show up, then it probably means they goofed and sent you last week's newsletter, rather than this week's new one.
At an absolute minimum, there ought to be a box to check on that silly-a$$ warning for "don't ask me this again"!!! YES, I know downloading images can expose my presence. I knew it last time you asked me, I know it this time, and I'll know it the next 500 times you ask me!

After updating, everything was normal, no changes. After I applied John Clark's optimization tips and rebooted, those red xinji icons appeared. Added those icons to my list of hidden things (shop apps, music, themes, games, movies, yellowpages, telenav...at&t pushed crap). Seemed to gain around 2Mb more memory from this build.
*EDIT*
I found the source of the problem. When following John Clark's guide, I removed the vendor_ID for every theme in Blackberry.alx, then removed all the theme cod files I didn't need from the java directory. Well there is an extra cod file that is associated with china mobile called net_rim_cm_customerservice.cod that also needed to be removed from the java directory. This will stop the china mobile customer service icons from being loaded.

I hope this fixes the problem I had. My phone would freeze whn getting a call or text sometimes and a battery pull is the only option to get it to work

For my 8310:
This update took longer than usual, particularly the connecting to the device phase.
Also, I would uncheck gmail before doing the update. It got hung on updating googlemail.cod wirelessly on the first try.
