Holding my new battery in my hand, Jseah.

Heh, heh, heh. Looks like "The Good" wins after all.

Yup...I'm actually going to do something I never do, and follow the instructions to the letter. Will put it in the phone tonight when I go to bed, and let it charge overnight (they say 8 hours in the instructions) before I use it. So I'll have some sense it by the end of day tomorrow.

So the new battery is thicker...when I put it in, I wasn't able to fit the folded piece of paper I have inserted w/the original battery to make the battery cover tighter.

The loose fit and shifting back and forth are gone, which is very nice. The cover seems like it may be bowing out every so slightly, but the overall result is much preferred to the lose fit and "rattling" of the cover that can occur w/the original battery.

its weird I have seen you mention the loose battery cover, now I am a little worried as mine isnt loose at all so I wonder if mine will bow out big time.

Well my Verizon 8130 Pearl has the same problem. It's not that the battery case moves a lot but it doesn't seat and stay in place like any other phone.
I didn't notice it at forst but when you can tap the back and see it move isn't good. So how is the new battery and does it make the door fit tighter?

I just looked at mine and it moves ever so slightly I wouldnt call it a bad thing at all. Its nothing I would ever be concerned with. There are alot worse things that could be wrong with the device. It could be getting dust under the screen like some of the other devices.

That's the movement so many people are griping about. I'm with you as far as worrying about it. Besides, when my BB is in the silicone rubber sleeve, I won't notice whether the battery cover moves or not.

The shifting left/right of the cover showed a lack of a high quality fit and finish from an aesthetic point of view, which wasn't a big deal to me...however, what I didn't like about the loose cover in general was that the cover would vibrate/rattle when playing music or movies via the internal speakers...adding an annoying 'fuzziness" to the sound at louder points. That's entirely gone w/the new battery in place.

Saying the cover is "bowing out" was not the right phrase, really...on either edge there is a bit less than a hairs'-width of the edge of the cover exposed. A lot of people may not even notice it...I'm being a bit picky in mentioning it.

Thanks for the review. So what do you think of the power so far how much drain have you noticed?

Hmmm...Just checking now.

Today I've done some web browsing, received maybe 30 emails, viewed about half of them, replied to one, made a couple short phone calls, watched a little streamed video (a couple minutes), streamed a little internet radio (a minute or so), and used my BT headset for a few minutes. I also have an OTA sync program running (I'm in the BBerrySync beta) that checks for changes to calendar/contacts/notes/tasks on the BBerrySync server every 5 minutes, and syncs any changes to the BB. [EDIT] Oh - and I leave BT on 24/7.

At 10:30 I'm down to 80%, which is lower than I would have expected at this point. (I don't know much about batteries...does that mean I have 80% x 1250 = 1000 mAh left, so at mid-morning I have more juice than w/a full original battery, or ?)

What's the right way to compare the old and new batteries, since they have different capacities? I'm electromagnetically clueless.

If my old battery was at 50% at the end of the day, and the new battery is at 50% at the end of the day, that means that I had 450 mAh left in the old, and 625 mAh left in the new, but it would also mean that the new one was using 625-450=175 more mAh during the day.

How do these little mAh thingys work? (Hey - I was a Poli Sci undergrad, MBA grad...part of my brain where the science/engineering stuff was supposed to go is pretty much missing.)

I've had mine since Feb. 5th. I charged the phone with the battery overnight and have been using it since 6:00 am Feb. 6th.

I'm currently at 60% with bluetooth on from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm yesterday, 100 emails read, 50 emails sent, about an hour of talk time and a little wap surfing. I'd say I'm doing okay.

Note: in the paperwork, Seidio suggests up to 6 (I think) full charge/discharge cycles for optimum performance.

Thanks. I was wondering if there might be a "conditioning" period or something...

So you actually read all the instructions!? What are you, crazy or something!?

Well it's 4:30 PM, and my battery level is now at...

70%.

So at 10:30 it was at 80%, and near the end of the work day it's down just another 10%.

Usage has been phone calls, reading emails, a few email replies, watched a little video (five minutes?) at lunch, web browsing, downloaded and installed a theme, and limited other misc. use.

That's the results so far. Be interesting to see how it goes over the next few days....

I'm going to play some video to run it down some more so that when I recharge tonight it will be closer to 50% than 100%. Give it a bit of a workout.
