Nope. Gave me the Portuguese language pack though. And I removed it right away. Looks like that was the only thing it did, which is one big "never mind". I guess to get the auto-update I have to wait for Sprint to release .53 officially. Of course I can download it manually and delete the vendor.xml file, but I'm going to wait. My device is running so well now I'm not gonna mess with it. Frankly, it was kinda dumb of me to even try this auto-update, even though it did nothing.
I updated this morning and all has been well. Seems speedier, voice quality does not have seemed to change much though. Trackball feels the same but seems to move the the software nicer. Only downfall is a Sketch theme I got off crackberry does not fully work, but I don't care to much about that. No real complaints, well worth the dl.

Ok would like to add one small complaint. For some reason the Adorno multi alarm time was 5 hours different from my phone. Good luck explaining that one to the boss . Had to delete and reinstall to fix.

Don't bother with the Check for Updates inside of DM. Click the Update Software icon and Start. Make sure your phone is connected BEFORE clicking the icon.

Tried it this way and still did not register a software update available. I am on BES, so I assume that is why I cannot see it yet. It keeps sending me to the VZW update site which still has the original version.

I take it .53 has been pulled? I don't see it on Verizon's website nor does it get it when I do "Check for Updates" or "Update Software" within Desktop Manager.
djjmaddox - I think it's been pulled because I'm trying to update another Tour via the same DM instructions (i.e. selecting icon for Software Update) and it's not there like it was on Friday when I upgraded the other Tour phones.
Yeah mine never worked like that. I went to update software and it was not there. But I used the links from the beta thread and downloaded it manually then loaded the Dm and it was there. So if you follow those links you can still update.

If they are indeed still tweaking this thing, then RIM will have to change the .53 suffix to something new. Otherwise, those of us who upgraded via BlackBerry's very own Desktop Manager will have a half-baked version and our OS won't recognize the latest sound (complete) version of 4.7.1.53. It will match version number-for-number and deduce that we already have the upgrade installed.
I am on Sprint and have ugraded to this new version. The phone is working very well. Noticed that when you shut down the phone and plug into the charger, the light is now orange instead of green. When phone is fully charged it will turn to green.
The battery life is much much improved for me. I went from lasting 15 hours tops with minimal voice usage (and my typical suite of apps and BES running) to, well, still going. 11 hours off charger and I'm still at 80%!! Usually I would be around 25% now.
You know I didn't even realize that now I am going on two days and I am only down 50 percent. That is with facebook, internet, bes work and gmail usage. Not to shabby.

after looking through this post i see pretty much everyone is vzw.
has any sprint users installed this update? i have access to the sprint version of .53 just wondering if any sprint users have had any issues with the update yet other then the ones posted above.
I have installed and so far it is without any issues. Phone is very responsive. I have noticed the charging light when the phone is turned off has changed to amber. When phone is fully charged the led is green. So far, so good!
I am on Sprint also, and I am pretty new to this stuff. Could you confirm that all I have to do is execute the download, delete the vendor.xml file, and then use DM to load the new OS?
BTW, does it retain the sprint theme, or will it load a verizon theme?
I've upgraded today and the only issue that I have found so far is that I can no login log into google latitude within the google maps application. I've double and triple checked all the permissions and reinstalled the app with no success. Otherwise things seem to be working smoothly and I did not have to activate my BES server. I upgraded from the .40 standard release.
