OK... where did v1.6 come from? I thought the latest was 1.5x, for Pearl, and 1.49 for others. Did I somehow miss an official new version announcement? Which new features are in this version, and is it meant for 88xx devices? Thanks.

I have tried this 1.6 version on my Pearl...running .107 OS. The VM/SMS issues with the LED showing same color as SMS text issues appears to be resolved!!!!! YAHOOOOO!!!

I as well got the same lockup on the initial request to allow phone logs to be accessed. After a few battery pulls I went into the application permissions and edited the permissions for BBAlerts to "Allow" for both "connections" and "interactions" and got it to run.

I notice when you first launch the app is shows version 1.5 as well as in the help/about however in the applications properties it shows 1.6.

Kinda non related but something that was giving me an issue and now works in this version.

I use the TMO Zen "list" theme. On the early versions of the Pearl OS the theme was in list format meaning when you hit the menu key it is in list format and not icons. Later versions of all OS's after that include the newer TMO Zen icon theme. There is a way to install the old theme back in by plugging the .COD file back in using Desktop Manager and whenever I would switch back to the list theme the alert logging would never function. Now it does.

Sorry, I didn't come back to check the thread after I posted the link. I too was unaware of newer versions other than 1.49 and 1.50p until a few days ago. I believe I just read it on another forum.

That said, yes after I set the permissions and such, all was okay BUT the application did not autostart on bootup, so I reverted back to 1.49, which does.

Do any of you that have upgraded to 1.60 been able to have it start up on bootup? I didn't do battery pulls, just soft resets so that could account for it, but if a few of you folks confirm that it does start up on boot, I will try another upgrade attempt.

No go on my Curve. Even when I set that program to Allow, it still prompts me, and then freezes.

I notice that perhaps my BES settings do not allow me to change the default permissions to Allow (even though I have explicity set BBAlerts to allow, perhaps the default ones are coming into play.) I am digging through my BES server settings now....

I hope I can get this version running!

I dont suppose anyone knows if the EXTREMLY sought after "no new alerts orange indicator" is a v1.6 feature?

Ahhh...I guess I did not realize that it did not start up automatically.

If this can work and the permissions thing fixed it will be a solid version.

Changing the BES phone prompt default to Allow did allow me to get this program running. (Again, that is independet of the actual BBalerts specific setting in the permissions.)

THANKS BBYMEL!!!!!!!!!!

Using 1.6 on my 8200, and works fine. I was running 1.49 and it was a bit odd at times but 1.6 seems to have cleaned it up a bit.

The "version 1.6" is a work in progress. Download at own risk It was posted for testing an issue with 8707 phone call alerts not working a couple users were having issues with voicemail showing up as SMS. There are no new features above version 1.5... a few extra options than 1.49.

Autostart was turned off to troubleshoot issues with 8703e model. Not sure what is up with the permissions not working properly (maybe someone can PM if they experience it) Battery pull shouldn't be needed...

Thanks for the update BByMel...

Any chance we could get a version of this 1.6 'work in progress' with the autostart enabled? This is proving to be a very stable version for the Pearl.

The permission issue is that when you initially run the app and you are prompted to allow BBAlerts access to the phone logs it freezes. After going into BBAlerts Permissions and setting the Phone setting to allow under Connections the issue is resolved.

I was thinking of asking that myself.

But then I thought about the lockup loop. If it starts on bootup and immediately locks up, there isn't a way to set permissions without rebooting, and it'd go in a circle like that.

However, with further thought, as long as the permissions were set before the first reboot after the installation, it should be okay. Install, set permissions, then reboot. Just don't be tempted to start the application after it's installed but before the permissions have been set.

So... yeah, how 'bout making a autobooting 1.60 for use at our own risk, Bbymel? ;)

Actually by pressing and holding the off key and then turning it back on will get you out of the lockup. It returns some sort of exception message but it would at least allow you to get in to modify the permissions without a full reboot.

Good catch on the possible loop though. Never thought of that.

Hi!
Has anyone noticed that with the ver. 1.6 on the pearl, that it does not light up the trackball? I have it set to both and only the status light blinks. I really like having both, but with the 1.49, it would not pick up Voice mails. Can someone help?

Thanks!!

The office gave me a 7130, but I'm in desperate need of a progam that will give an audible tone/reminder based on events I have in my MS Outlook calendar. I read from Logan on the 1st page of this forum that it had not been developed, but has anyone come across anything or know whether this program exists yet or not??

Help! I downloaded 1.6 a couple weeks ago to replace 1.49. Everything was working well, and then several days ago the Alerts stopped working. When I restart the device, it says "Uncaught Exception: Blackberry Alerts." I have tried several battery pulls and have also re-downloaded the BBAlerts app twice. I am not getting any alerts from BBAlerts whatsoever.

Default Led notification one after the other

First when I had a calendar notification the led was flashing red. After recieving a mail the leds flashes a short time red (calendar) and short time green (mail). But now the red flash stops and is changing to one green flash. How can I bring back the different notifications continuously?

Maybe I'll found the solution: Assign Colors > LED Pause Time > No Pause
