It doesn't change the core of the phone, no, it does alter the layout, colors, fonts ect. It adds to the phone, if you don't like it, you can just change it back in the Options menu.

I am running a 7250 and it did not let me delete it, I had to reinstall the whole software from a backup after I did a wipr.

If you would have installed it via ALX/COD (not included with the 4.0.2 installation BlackBerry.alx), then you could have simply deleted it from Applications (if loaded that way) or the appropriate Modules listing.

If you installed via BlackBerry.alx (included with 7290 and 7100 installations; uncommenting or adding a vendor ID would have been necessary to invoke the optional themes), then you would need to re-comment those entries or remove the vendor ID and then open Application Loader, which would prompt you to update the Core Components (which would simply remove the theme COD file you commented).

And lastly, you could have used JavaLoader to remove the module.

In other words, doing a wipe and reinstalling the OS was a bit over-the-top in order to simply remove a theme. You wouldn't have had to do that drastic of a step to do so. I would say that anyone reading this thread needs to realize that the removal of themes by the means of the above poster was unnecessary (no offense to him/her).

I don't want to sound like an idiot, but here I go anyway. Believe it or not, I have been using BB for two years, and today is the first time I ever used the application loader! Anyway, I think I loaded the themes on my 7510, but how do I apply them?

I know you are new but it would behoove you to a) learn to use the search button, and b) learn that there is no reason to crosspost to different threads, once you post, subscribe to the thread and you will be notified when someone answers.

Thanks Tiki for your kind words!!! There isn't anything wrong asking questions.... haven't you heard... No QUESTION is stupid

Neways,
I got the themes to work on my 7250 and i thought i might as well share it here.

I had a v3.6 Desktop Manager and that was the sole reason for it not to work. I upgraded to v4.0 and VOILA!! themes got pushed down without any grief. The device however takes a little longer to refresh the BB desktop with the new theme.

Have a good one!!

iceBlue I was not been unkind at all, i was merely pointing out some forum ettiquette. Cross posting, or starting several threads at once on the same subject does not necessarily get you an answer any faster. And as far as searching all of us have done it, it is simply the process you have to go through to get the answers you need or seek. We all work for what we want, someone much wiser tha I once said, and I am paraphrasing here so you dont come and jump down my throat for not quoting it precisely but anyway here I go: "Give a man a fish and you feed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime." No disrespect intended just trying to help.

I just downloaded the themes and installed them. Thanks, you guys are fantastic and very knowledgable. I have the "Orange" theme going but some of my icons are within other icons and the question is how do I get all icons on the screen?
