Default The 8900 is a slippery little sucker

Please Login to Remove!

So far the only negative I really have on my 8900 over my 8320 is that the 8900 lacks the soft textured plastic and with the aluminum-like back it makes for one slippery handheld. I've already flung it out of my hand once trying to get it out of the slip case. If someone made a rubberized battery cover I would buy it in a heartbeat. The Aluminum back is just way too slippery and hard to grip.

I just bought an OEM gel skin for better grip and protection. I had one for my 8320 as well...

I'm putting a BSE on the back of mine as well as the top where it sticks out of the pouch. No way I'm trying those little side pieces.

1st, great handle. I’m an old bike weenie myself.

I agree on the slippy-ness. I had one episode with my 8100 where I took it out of my pocket and proceeded to toss it on the ground because it slipped from my hand. Since getting the 8900, I have been extra careful to not pull the same move.

Today, I received and installed the Zagg Invisible Shield. While it’s a minor PITA to install and takes time, it adds greatly to the grip factor.

Time will tell on how it holds up. A silicon case is always a cheap solution and adds tons of grip.

Very slippery unit. Grip is not its strength.

I agree that it is slippery, but I installed the BSE full body skin on it and it makes a HUGE difference!!

...even the little side pieces. ;)

I got just the BSE screen protector. Now I wish I had gotten the full body coverage just so I could cover the battery cover.

I'm using the $10 gel skin from Tmobile I picked up yesterday and I dont like it at all. It makes it harder to type since the gel skin is above the surface of the keys and makes feeling the keys along the edge harder.
