How can I tweak an enterprise requirement for a password. I want no password or at least a 2 hour wait. It is very annoying. The options to change the password requirement and the length required are missing.

Welcome to BBForums..

If you are on a BES, you can not override the BES settings. Also, at many companies, overriding or attempting to override the BES settings are reasons for termination.

Not a particularly popular topic on a BlackBerry board....

If you arn't on a BES ... You can do a SEARCH and find how to remove it quickly. A LOT has been covered here just for a SEARCH ..............

Sin ce the mod here give conflicting answres between if you sould answer the same most 400 times or just give the answer give this a try:

And I guess it made you feel like a big man with 193 posts not simply to tell someone posting for the first time that he can go to Options, Security, General Settings and set a timeout of up to one hour.

Or maybe you're just in a cranky mood which I apparently am as evidenced by this reply.

Thank you Cooper for telling Allwell the answer. I think it takes the same amount of effort to tell someone the answer they need than to tell them to search.

Drives me insane. Just help people!

Oh, thanks for pointing this out Also a wonderment I had about the password timing.

Appreciate the vote of confidence, Liv. I'm already feeling less cranky.

Liv and Cooper; it is highly likely that since there is a published IT Policy on the BB, they have disabled the ability to change the timeout. I know we do not allow people to either turn off the password or change the time period...

Understood. He said "How can I tweak an enterprise requirement for a password." I was just responding to the conjecture that folowed "If you arn't on a BES...".

Ah - since he specifically said "Enterprise" I followed up on that thread.

Since hbomb disagrees with me (and said so in the thread) I will reiterate what I said - if you are on a BES and have a IT Policy pushed to you, you can not override it.

hbomb - if you are active on a BES, the policy will get pushed back down over and over. The procedure you gave works if you want to remove an IT Policy and NOT use a BES.
