Anybody magically get thier hands on the OEM yet that can verify?
I got the OEM holster in Chicago this past weekend at the Water Tower Place. They had 2 left. It is the one brewrat has pictured in the first page of this thread.

I can confirm that you have to holster the device upside down to use the magentic clip in the flap for sleeper function.

After having the case I was trying to think of a way to get a small magnet into the bottom portion of the case to avoid putting it in upside down all the time. Then the planets aligned and I remebered I had an old SpeckProducts Skin Case in my desk at work. Never could get the small magnet that came with that to stay glued in. I took that magnet and will somehow get it in the new case.

so let me get this straight....

the SDA case will put the pearl to sleep, but does that solve the problem with the accidental muting of the ringer and/or notifcations previously posted about the trackball?

Got the SDA Horizontal case. Works good. No issues with trackball moving. Sleeper works whichever way you put the phone in. Never had a horizontal case before but I like it better than the vertical because it doesn't hit my thigh as much when I sit down.

The fit isn't perfect but good enough. There is a 1 cm gap in the length of the device and the case. But, it doesn't move around.

I got a generic case from some store in the mall which worked great. I then changed left side key (default: Voice Dial) to keylock function. Works great for me till newer cases come out.

Hey Guys,

Just an FYI - I just bought that case for the 8100. To have SLEEP MODE work with this case, you need to insert it UPSIDE DOWN...

Thanks,

Where did you order that case from? Does it have the sleeper function?

I have the horizontal leather case from TMO. I have modified it by adding a small rare earth magnet to the underside of the flap. This will put the 8100 in sleep mode when the flap is snaped shut. It works great.

Wouldn't you want a silicone skin instead? The holster/case makes it more bulky.

Hi kasperapd,

What is the difference? The case looks exactly the same.

It is the same, that's the problem. I paid $10 more on the one I ordered. I would cancel, but it has shipped already.

^^I'm in the same situation. The package should arrive today or tomorrow. I should have done more research on silicone skins/cases.

I'm going to carry those skins too. I have 160 on order on all available colors and looking to selling it between $6 - $8 dollars each. About $12 shipped I believe.. but not sure. Could be lower but not higher.
