Unhappy new BB user..worried if the phones real or not

Please Login to Remove!

i bought BBP 8100 this weekend...i bought it from a dealer...the phone was unlocked...(got it for $230...is that too high?)

well, i was going through the manual and got to the page with the 'diagram'....to my surprise there was no picture on the page....but there were labels...for the buttons...is that normal?...also the text was faded

and that's not it...the CD that came with it...was a movie and not the desktop software.......now, is that normal?

I am just worried that I got myself into a mess....would appreciate any help..

thanks in advance

Wirelessly posted (8130, Bell Mobility)

Is it at least a good movie?

Honestly, the manual isn't all that helpful. Most people who get Blackberries will learn through experience and trial-n-error while using their device. Also this forum is a great place to learn stuff and ask questions.

As for the CD, I'm guessing that was the desktop manager. I wouldn't worry about it since you can get a copy of it or even more advanced version of the software from the BlackBerry website.

Is the device working?

well the device is working fine....i was just worried because of the disc (not sure what movie it was....movies, infact....it's double sided!! :P )

i don't have the phone with me right now....will post the pics when i do....thanks a lot

i do have one problem with the phone though....i stored my contacts in it...when i make a call by clicking on the contact name....it automatically adds +44 to the number (that i had stored)....which is weird (and if i am not wrong, 44 is england's code)....
I don't know how to fix this problem...have surfed the net too but didn't find any useful information....is there some way i can set the code to be +1 instead of +44?....it's not a big problem but still...i have to write down the number on a piece of paper first and then dial it.....

thanks a ton, guys!

With the phone/call logs open, go to options > smart dialing. You can change the country code there.
