Curve 8310

At work I recently upgraded my DM to 4.6
I then upgraded from some 4.2.x.x OS to 4.5.0.81
Everything went well. And I am back in business.

I also use a copy of the DM on my home PC for loading music etc. on my curve.

So I figured I should install 4.6 DM at home. I had 4.5 DM already installed and working fine at home.
I uninstalled the old DM at home and cleaned the registry.
I dloaded the 4.6 software from RIM and tried to install it.
After unzipping, the main installer intro says it will install DM 4.2.2.
I wasn't sure what to make of it but I was pretty sure I dloaded the correct file.
Sure enough once installed when I went to fire it up it is was the old 4.2 DM.
I uninstalled cleaned etc.
I made sure it was the correct 4.6 dload and even redloaded but when I go to install it says 4.2.2 DM install again.

What gives?

Anyone have any clue?

You need to install the handheld OS 4.5.0.81 on your home PC.
Since you have a lower handheld OS on there now, it's looking to downgrade your device.

I installed the same 4.5 OS on my home PC as the one at work and the same that is on my curve.

I dloaded DM again and installed it. It said installing 4.2.2
I went ahead and installed but it is still is the 4.2.2 DM.
Just for kicks I installed the DM 4.5 and it wanted to install the 4.2.2 too.

What gives?

Is there a way to remove any old traces of the 4.2 handheld OS from my home PC?

I did the clean uninstall of the DM, removing registry entries etc.
but ....
No dice.

Any other suggestions?
