I have a blackberry pearl 8120, and every time i try and restore the OS it gives me the error " the blackberry desktop software does not have blackberry device software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator"

Can't seem to do the restore i have also tried the "plug in the blackberry with no battery waiting for the USB: Unknown thing" and tried to continue.

Welcome to the forums.

Verify you have the correct OS for the your 8120 installed on your PC.

Also, check to make sure you've deleted the vendor.xml file, search your PC and make sure there are no instances of this file.


Are you running Vista or XP?

I would try this:
Install the DM 4.5 and the appropriate hand held software that is your current OS. Go to OPTIONS / ABOUT and look at your current OS version.
Should be 4.2 or 4.3 or 4.5. Then download this OS Handheld version and load on your PC or Laptop.

Are you using XP or Vista?

Alright, that shouldn't be the problem.

Have you deleted the vendor.xml file from your PC?

What version of OS do you have on your PC? When you downloaded the OS, did you double click on it to install it on your PC?

ok so i guess its the 8100 but i cant find the correct os version. and i have installed and deleted the vedor xml file.
