Hi there,

Does anyone know if I can prevent wipe handheld operation after 10 unsuccessfule password attempts? I don't find an option for that on BES 4.1.2 management console.

if you have access to the Bes console, why not push a password to the device you know will work?

as long as content protection isn't enabled on the device; this'll work perfectly.

Agree with cartwfh and hdawg.

Even with BES policies, the max attempts you can set is 10.
If content protection has been enabled on the device, then nothing you can do (except watch the device take AGES to wipe!)

Yep, so think very carefully before enabling it via policy. Also I tell my users not to enable it, else if they forget their passwords it is their life they're going to make harder...

Content Protection should really only be used for the most sensitive of information ... It makes the user experience and administrative experience a little more strained (such as no remote password setting, or if you wipe the HH it'll generally take at least an hour for the wipe to complete) ... but from a security standpoint, it might be just what you need.
