Default Lock keyboard shortcut?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Folks,
Just upgraded from the Pearl to the 8800.
Quick question - is there I keyboard shortcut to lock the keyboard?
There was one on the Pearl, and I'm hoping there's one for the 8800 too - it's a pain in the arse having to go through the menu to do it.

Cheers,
S.

Lightly pressing the "k" key has always locked QWERTY keyboards, assuming you have disabled dialing from the home screen.

Eek! How do I disable speed dails from the home screen?
I did a quick search of the manual, and nothing obvious came up.

Cheers,
S.

From the phone screen, go to options > General Options > set dial from home screen to No.

You will then be able to use shortcuts to email (m), browser (b), calendar (l) etc

Speed dials still work. Tap k to lock the device. Press and hold "k" (as an example) to use the number stored in the speed dial under "k".

This, and many other tips, are available in the Tips and Tricks sticky FAQ thread at the top of the General BlackBerry Discussion forum.
