Works absolutely great on my 8100... it's a God-send

Couple things.. if I have an away message up and I get disconnected/reconnected due to poor service, the away message moves to the "Buddy Info" section when I look at it on AIM... not sure if I am making sense here... it's not really a big deal

One thing I would love to see is how long people have been online and whether or not they are idle (and if so, how long they have been idle)

That's it though, everything else is fantastic

Default So far so good!

Im using a T-Mobile Blackberry 8100. Just downloaded tonight. Everything works great so far sans aleart tones, but I assume those will be added once the infrastructure is completed. It's a great program and from what I can tell from it, rock solid!

awesome program!
just wondering... anyway in the future you can actually get the sounds, like when someone come online, or goes away? i myself downloaded the IM sound so when i get a msg i hear it, but would like to get the ones that aim has for everyone when they come on and off, and stuff like that.

another question, i see you guys do updates, where will i need to go to check and see when the next one comes out? on the phone?

Question Last block incomplete in decryption

kyububba,

Thanks for the OTA link, I downloaded it and logged in to AIM and Yahoo perfectly fine, then after an hour or so, it came up with this error message. I was not actively chatting at the time. It logged me out of both messenger systems. I logged in again and has not recurred. BTW this happened around 10AM this morning. I tried to read thru application log but did not make much sense.

"Last block incomplete in decryption". I looked at the log file (Alt-LGLG) and see more details on decruption errors with some blocks and others.

this is currently a bit confusing, but it controls 2 things:

1. it controls how long it takes (when idle) for the battery saver mode to kick in. this is why tmo users have it set to pretty low.

2. it controls how long it takes for the app to enter an "idle" state, and new IMs coming in while the app is in "idle" state will get the "New IM while Idle" alert instead of the "New IM while active" alert. The app currently DOES NOT automatically set your status to idle.

this error happens when the application gets an empty packet of data (usually because of a network problem) and tries to decrypt it. the problem is with our error handling, which should handle it more gracefully than bouncing you out of the application (the default behavior if we get an unexpected error).

same thing has been happening to me. when i become available from setting my away message a lot of the times my away message moves to my buddy info and even if i set a new away message it still keeps that previous away message as my buddy info..it's weird.

Honestly we haven't looked into it, but it sounds like a good idea. Do you know whether they allow you to connect from outside of myspace? Probably with some sort of a web API presumably

Default Reset - Loop Error

Had it running, wasn't chatting at the time, noticed my 8703e (Verizon Wireless) had rebooted, it actually looped, I pulled the battery to reset it.

Found this in the log:

Name: System
GUID: 97c9f5f641d25e5f
Time: Mar 27, 2007 13:51:06
CMM: JiveTalk$2dBlackBerry$2dmidp2-1(2465) no sig from 0x33

Had one before each reboot. Resetting fixed the problem. Not sure if that error is at all related to the problem or not, but the timing is certainly convenient.

EDIT: I will say that other than this, it's worked /very/ well. I've been letting it run from 8am to 5pm or so, all day. Whether chatting or not. Battery ding seems to be fairly minimal (with light/moderate chatting), no worse, really, than texting a bunch or browsing a bunch. No dropped messages (that I was aware of), no drop in the connection either, which is a big improvement over Rable, which drops frequently for me.

Hi Folks,
I'm dying to try this program, but I keep getting a "connection closed" error.

Device: Blackberry 8800
Carrier: O2
OS: 4.2.1.73
Service: MSN.

I was getting a "open tunnel - failure" error, so changed my APN settings to the correct settings, then change the application permissions to "allow".
Now, I'm simply getting a connection closed error.
I cannot ping the server either.

Any ideas as to what might be wrong?

Cheers,
S.

you'll see this in the logs a lot actually, don't think it's what caused your BB to crash though. from our experience, it's always been there, and hasn't seemed to cause a problem in the past.

we're actually not sure why this is logged and what the system is trying to do here, but it's been an item on our issues list for a while...

Hrm, good to know. The timing was just really convenient. I didn't fully plow through all 27 prior pages of stuff here, but...

Has anyone else had the issue with the reboot loop-a-thon with relation to JiveTalk?
