Software For BlackBerry® Storm 2 (TM) smartphone
BlackBerry Handheld Software v5.0.0.834 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 5.0.0.834
Consisting of:
*Applications: 5.0.0.497
*Software Platform: 4.2.0.220
*File name: 9520_omanodrmM_PBr5.0.0_rel834_PL4.2.0.220_A5.0.0. 497_Vodafone_Australia_and_Fiji.exe
*File size: 124.54MB
Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download the OS file here:
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...19656875EE557C

Instructions for installing either version on ANY carrier's 9520:

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

I cannot install this either (Vodafone Ireland). I saw it has some extra alx fiels for sudoku, tetris, BejeweledTwist etc. It must be specifically tied to VF Austrailia and Fiji.

I did everything as you've written down.

First, I downloaded the file... when it finished I did the things you mentioned. The hole thing was about 2 minutes. And I don't feel anything changed... The installation said that the phone had been succesfully updated. But as I say... I don't feel anything changed.

So... What can it be?

Can I check the updation out somehow?

This software update so far has been OK however whenever i use a 3G connection for anything (Vodafone Navigation, Viigo RSS Feeds etc) the batteyr will be drained VERY quickly - a bit like watching the fuel needle go down on a Honda Civic Type R when you're VTEC'ing it... Definately more noticeable on this build than on the previous one

Other than that, all is well

how you upgrade your T-mobile 9520? my T-mobile 9520 just can upgrade to the 436. It can't upgrade the rom after 436 like 497 or 580.

how did you do? could you tell me the details ?
