Question 2 phone user needs help

Please Login to Remove!

OK, new to Blackberry world.
I have a IPhone 3Gs, 32gb and I like it a lot, however due to work restrictions I can not have a phone with a camera so I bought a used 8700c Blackberry. I removed my Sim card from the iPhone and installed it into the BB. Phone works, send and receive text messages...however when I attempt to set up email in the "set up email" in either the wizard or via settings, I'm only seeing the BES setup, asking for password etc, no BIS settings...also when browser is selected it goes into a authorization process and nothing shows...I do have a data plan with my service provider (AT&T)
Info on phone:
os is 4.5

also when I attempt to download the desktop manager from the web site I see a lot of drop down menus with service packs, which one should I download????

Any help would be appreciated....

Your iPhone data plan is not compatible with the BlackBerry.
A BlackBerry device wants a BlackBerry Data Plan.

Every time you switch your SIM between devices, you'll also need to call AT&T and have them switch your data plan as well. (I doubt you want to do this.)

Correct. You can't receive emails on the BB using your iPhone data plan.

You could use Opera Mini with the mobile Gmail website (m.gmail.com) or the GMail BlackBerry app supports non-BlackBerry data.

It is possible to get *some* limited functionality without a BlackBerry contract. See here:

Some BlackBerryForums members are a bit snobby about slumming it without a BB data contract, with some justification given the difference in experience. For others it's a perfectly fine way to use the device.

The FAQ is a hive of fantastic information:
