i'd love to see a feature in options that shows all applications currently running.
only recently started using the "close" option when using apps, like the bb browser, media player, etc....

Holding down the 'alt' key while then pressing the arrow key to the right of the trackball will allow you to scroll through a list of open apps.

I would like voice mail and sms separate.....actually no "message" for VM at all. I mean the voice mail icon is enough to let me know I have VM and for me to check it. I don't need an sms notification to clear as well.

can the LED be changed to flash additional colors ? also it would be nice to have this feature as user-selectable for the various options when editing the ringers/notifications.

A Bluetooth A/V profile for outputing video to a bluetooth enabled A/V device.

Could be used for:
playing videos
giving presentations
GPS Turn by Turn directions (including voice ;))
Larger Display when on business travel

Default Don't fix Apps., release API's

Other than delivering emails, RIM really doesn't get much right. Rather than having RIM develop applications, I would rather that they develop and release API's (Application Programming Interface) so that other Developers can develop Applications for Blackberries.

I'd like to see:

1: Tasks themes.. (Similar to calendar/message themes.)
2. More API access for developers, I like those little notification icons
3. A more robust GPS application.
4. Expand on the password keeper maybe? Granted I am very content with Ascendo Data Vault.
5. Fill the memory leak issue?
6. Built in pop-up notifier.. Even though I have Aerize Email alerts.
7. Improve the search feature for the messages.. I'd really like to exclude saved emails..

More to come lol.

Exclamation

Here's what I want to see in a future OS update for the 8900 Curve on T-Mobile:
  1. First things first, RIM: MAKE T-Mobile get off their lazy arses and PROVIDE an OS update! The OS on their site hasn't been updated AT ALL since the 8900 launched in February!
  2. Fix the site formatting glitches with the Web Browser. I'm getting WAY too many sites where an image overlaps the text, or one piece of text overlaps another. I'm also getting words that are supposed to be clickable URL links, that can't be clicked. And the text entry field needs to be fixed, so that the words you're typing no longer go off-screen where they're "invisible".
  3. Get your OS and Desktop Manager to recognize the Official RIM Instant Messenger Apps that come as standard on the 8900 with T-Mobile! The only one the DM recognizes for purposes of back-up and reinstallation is BB Messenger, the rest are coming up as "unrecognized apps".
  4. Get T-Mobile to issue an OS update!
  5. Get rid of the ridiculously low email size limits! I'm getting too many emails where I can't read the whole message because the BlackBerry automatically "Truncates" the message and refuses to let me see the whole thing... even when I d/l the plain text version!
  6. Bring back the Dimension Zen Theme! Update the resolution to match that of the 8900, and make it available for FREE from the BlackBerry Help website!
  7. For that matter, bring back the OTHER missing theme styles (Today, List, Icon, etc.) for the 8900, as well! We shouldn't be limited to just ONE official theme! And we shouldn't have to PAY to get the basic themes that used to come with a BlackBerry FOR FREE!
  8. GET T-MOBILE TO ISSUE AN OS UPDATE, ALREADY!!! AND ONCE THEY DO IT, MAKE SURE THEY KEEP RELEASING THEM ON A REGULAR BASIS!!!!
That oughta just about do it for me.

RIM can not control T-Mobile.

We can complain about carriers till we are blue in the face.

Lightbulb alarm...

i like to set three alarms... but i want each alarm to be at different volumes, and play different tones or songs.
is it so hard to make these options available for each alarm, rather than the current profile settings?

1. Ability to edit quoted text in email replies, with smart quotation. My SideKick could do this; I think a BB should be able to.

2. Allow the user to turn off the ridiculous "feature" that causes the most recent email to appear on-screen if the phone is opened within 20 secs. of its arrival. It is so annoying to take out my BB, intending to look at the Calendar or Tasks, and instead find myself staring at an email.

3. Allow the user to configure additional hot-key shortcuts for applications.

4. Alt-Alt for Alt lock. Shift-Shift for Shift lock.

They definitely need to add threaded SMS... I can't believe how antiquated the BB/RIM SMS handling is... also, RIM needs to open up the SMS API so that if RIM doesn't want to do threaded SMS, at least third party developers can do it.

I'd like to see Apps like BerryPopUp/Buzz and SmartAlerts integrated into the actual OS.

We can set custom ring tones when contacts call, by why not when they email.. after all the BB is an email device.

This thread makes me lol. It just shows how inadequate BB's when it comes to simple things that wouldn't take much effort on RIM's part to integrate...

Remote hard reset of device from BES server.
Remote managment of device. (simular as VNC for BB of some kind).
Enterprise provisioning readiness tool provided to all rather then TS support subscribers.
Enterprise activation initiated from the BES server.
