I can help you go buy a real cell phone! You cant send text on a 7520 only recieve and you wont know who they are from. A little research on your part would have told you that, its in the general specifications of the phone from RIM. Also use the search feature on the forums and you would have also found 40 maybe 50 other threads asking same question.

I send text messages with my 7520 using the persons phone number and then teleflip. Example: [email address] send it from your compose email section.

There was no need to be an asshole...if you didn't notice the 'newbie' part of my post..then look again. The phone was a present...if I knew I was getting it, I would have researched. Why dont you get a life...instead of bashing people on the internet. You can see titles of threads before you click on them...next time..dont click on one I post. CYA

Rumor has it that the next software release will give the 7520 the ability to do mms messaging. So it isn't a to far out question, but people can get rude if you don't use the search button, I guess that they don't like the extra click on the mouse.

Just use "Search" and avoid everyone's frustration with answering the SAME QUESTION, EVERY DAY, 2 TIMES A WEEK. It's alot of reading but well worth it in the end. So next time, if you have another question about something, you can use "SEARCH" or maybe today or in the future, you can help another "Newbie" out by having them use "SEARCH". No need for profanity here.

To answer your question...Your BB is not capable of sending text messages...only emails. U can receive text messages, but with no information regarding who sent you the message or text'd you. It only displays just what the text message says. It sucks, welcome to the BlackBerry world. If you want to keep receiving text messages, just have whoevers text'n u sign off on it (identify themselves). To send a text message, the easy way...use teleflip.com or just do a "SEARCH". For Example: Cingular's: [email address]. There's a list of all the carriers in the forum. The "SEARCH" menu is ur friend.
Everyone here is VERY HELPFUL!!! Even DAWG!!!

i setup a pop3 account at hotpop.com as [email address]

on the BB 7520, I use 2 java apps, midpstmp and mMail

You can use these apps with any pop3 server. I just happen to like hotpop

both can be found at wap.getjar.com

What I have noticed is that using a pop3 server has been more reliable lately than nextels text messaging.

Just cause you are married dont mean you are dead. Shes fully clothed in all pictures. And being a former firefighter she has on bunkergear washing a fire truck nothing better than female firefighters
