sharpie00 - if you haven't already, maybe try a password on the account rather than leaving it blank. Also verify that your FTP server is on the same port as BeFTP is connecting on. If you are not using WIFI connection you will need your WAN address and forward the port on your router. If you are familiar with all this I apologize.

Kolev, I'm on TMO no BES with a 8310 and I can connect to the FTP site in the software consistently with absolutly no problems...

....

I did notice however I consistently get the following uncaught exception error every time I try to make a new folder on my SD. I didn't know if others are able to create new folders on the SD using your file manager but this is from my exception log... I hope this helps.

Default BeFTP 1.0 uploaded for beta-testing

If interested, download from http://www.beiks.com/download/beta/beftp.jad .

Please post your feedback here.

What's new:
- Misc reliability improvements

- Account management: allows creation, deletion and edition of different connection accounts (see below)

- Evaluation mode: while still fully functional (and in fact more functional than
the last release) BeFTP now does NOT save accounts when exiting the program. Users can still connect to any site they want (to the best of the application's ability), but will need to enter the URL every time unless they register.

- Even more connection methods

- Ability to log communication protocol (used for troubleshooting)

- Proper password field

Still isn't working for me. I'm on BIS (no APN access). Any clue?

I am still as of yet, unable to connect with this version. I turned on the logging and it's <empty>.

Not sure what else to try.

You do have Internet access in other applications, don't you?

Did you try all possible connection configurations?

Specifically, TCP and BIS?

Yes, I can access internet with BIS compatible apps, like Jivetalk for example. TCP and BIS didn't work.

Best,
Jaime

Ditto for me. I've tried the various connection methods. Connect fine with other apps (Midpssh, viigo, for example).

Just got an email from my contact at RIM who says BIS-B has port 21 blocked and this is the most likely explanation of what you're seeing.

What carriers were you with again?

Also...we just uploaded yet another build of BeFTP 1.0b especially to confirm that it's a blocked port problem and not something else.

Erase your current distributive, go to the above link, request refresh from the browser and download again.

Run BeFTP, enable logging and try to connect again.

This time you should be able to look at the log while waiting for the connection.

Let us know what it says.

This program is extremely wonderful, works perfect for me. The only problem I have is that it is impossible to register. When I click "Proceed to Step 3" I get an error that says:

The following errors have occured.
(5) A Valid amount is required.

Other than that I have had 0 problems. Good job guys.

Music to my ears

Amount is set in place now...$10.

It will likely raise to $14.95 by mid year.

Subject to market conditions, competition and others, of course...

BELL Mobility
BIS-B

Tried connecting with the latest version. The only message that comes up is, "Wrong Username". However I'm not sure that it's actually logging everything (Unless it only logs the most recent message). I've attempted multiple connections to two servers, and the log never changes (default server, and my own).

You mean to the blocking of port 21?

Not really...one would need a proxy server or will only be able to use FTP which itself operates on a different port number.

We or someone else may offer a proxy, but since that involves traffic I guess it will have to be a paid service.

I can connect to the default site fine, but when I try do access my site- I get the root and when I click on a folder it just refreshes the page. I'd also recommend that you allow multiple profiles to save more ftp sites and such.

I have .91 too. Any ideas?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8320/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I installed the 1.0 and love the new feature. If iwas to buy it: would I get the latest updates for life? Also when will uploading feature work? And new folder creation-or deleting. Thanks!

While I can't practically guarantee free upgrades for life, I strongly believe you'll be getting free upgrades for quite some time, at least a year from the date of purchase.

With a few notable exceptions the vast majority of our applications have a long history of free upgrades.

Hey Bobby,

Hate to be a pain, but any ideas on the invalid Username? I'm pretty sure my usernames are correct.

Peace,
Jeremy
