Software
Can someone tell me exactly what I need to download to get plazmic to work? I don't know what else I need besides having XP Pro on my laptop.

How do I take a theme that is on my 7250 and import it into the Theme Builder?
My BB now has 4.1 and I would like to skin it for my company (we have 40 phones).
Bell seems to have a theme, and I want to see if I can view it in the Builder so that I might 'hack' it up a bit.
Thanks

You don't, the PTB can not modify the Cod or JAD/JAR files used to install themes, It only uses thm files and only one or two of them are currently available for each modke.
Hope this helps.

Applications folder
So I have been reading this thread and it almost answered my question, but not quite. It seems that the Applications "folder" on the ribbon is a function of the theme. I don't see how to create such a folder or how to move things into it from within the Plazmic tool. Surely there is a way because several themes have this folder.
Anyone got some thougths on this?

Not with the current version, unless the base theme for your handheld has one. And if it does you can't change which apps go into that folder. The themes that do have it were created ny Plazmic but using a different method than that available to the general public.
Hope this helps.

Bummer! This is my first experience with Blackberry. In some ways, I'm blown away at how good a job they've done, but this is one of those WTF moments. I just couldn't imagine they had committed this feature.
Thanks for the complete and quick response. I can sleep now, knowing I wasn't missing anything obvious.

first install or be sure to have installed Java SE Downloads
Java SE Downloads
second install: Blackberry JDE 4.1.0 BlackBerry
last install the plazmic software.
If you don't have the java apps the JDE and Plazmic won't go

Use a graphic editor to save the background images and use the feature under file/save for web. It will reduce the files size and retain most of the quality of the image.
Another way is try and save the image as a .gif and see if that helps reduce the file size under 60k. The theme builder software will convert the image back to .png when saving the theme.

I've been trying to find a 4.1 theme for the 7100 that uses small icons (sort of like the small icon theme I had before 4.1). All the themes I find use the larger icons (i.e. fitting 3 rows of 4 icons). I like to see all my icons on the home screen without having to scroll up and down. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Picture Resolution
Can anyone tell me what the best resolution would be for icons in a Theme (7250)? I've tried several attempts and my icons always come out blurry!
Thanks!!

Plazmic Theme Bulder
Okay... first of all i have an 8700g, I already downloaded plazmic and all that, I even transferred a few themes to my BB already, however here's my problem or problems rather:
1) my backgrounds never transfer over, i was told that they should be 320x240 and less than 50k... I got it to 320x240, but i do i know if it's less than 50k (i should already know this but I can't remember)?
2) does any one know the exact resolutions or sizes for 8700 icons? I saw where someone posted the resolutions for like a 7100 or something, but what about an 8700?
My boyfriend and I are working on 3 different themes for my BB: sex, strippers, motorcyles... I'm really anxious to get them finished...

Would you share when you finish them? I have the 8700g too and the 3 themes made my head turn, of course, if you are talking about female strippers. JAJAJA

I was giving you an additional link to use to download the program from. It's posted in my theme tools section in the event the others are unavailable.
I also have posted a few other files that often help when making themes. Plus i have posted some themes that i hope would give others ideas of how the theme builder software can be used.
have fun with the program and be sure to post what you make so others can use it. That is what these forums are all about.

I've been creating my own custom themes thanks to this thread but have another question.....
I have added Opera Mini onto my 7100i, but can't seem to edit the icon for the app using the Theme Builder program. Is it possible to customize this icon as well as other added apps? If so, how do I do it?
Thanks in advance
