Monthly is $499. 1 year is $499. 2 years is $449. 4 years is $349.

But it depends on the plan. Some plans only allow 2 or 3 years option (online at least). For example, the 25meg+350mins only give 2 or 3 year options. The 200meg data plan you can pick 1,2,3 years. A 400 minute digital 1 rate allows you to pick a month-to-month. Some cheaper plans raise the 2-3 year prices by $100, but most keep the structure in my first sentance...

Some plans are missing - it doesn't seem to support the 25+25 with 350 min plans (i.e., none of the "double data for $5 more" plans).

I tried picking the 400 min digital 1 rate, but then it won't let me pick a data add-on afterwards :(

Ug, I give up. What a crap website, errors, timeouts, bugs in the plans, yadda yadda...

I just can't seem to make a plan work for my needs on Rogers. I want to be able to combine data and a Digital One rate plan and they just don't seem to want to accomodate it.

I had the same problem when I signed up with my Pearl. You'll need to go to a store - they can finagle it for you there but there are still no data bundles available with the Digital One plans. Good Luck.

do you know if a data plan is required to qualify for the 2-3 yr upgrade?

I have a pearl now and i was gonna have my gf upgrade her plan (without data) to get the curve and then take that and swap my sim card.

worktrader -- thanks, I'm checking into some places now... Can you elaborate on how they worked it out? I can't wait to try to figure this out with the local pimply 18 year old teens working at the local rogers...

asdf37 -- I'm not sure locking into a longer contract qualifies as an "upgrade" Seriously though, you should go through the first few steps on rogers.com -- they don't ask for personal information until the absolute last step, so you can play with the options. I could find no rhyme or reason between the plans and what discounts it offered. It is truely a horrible mess.

MANY thanks for this thread! As soon as I saw you mentioned that it's up in the Rogers.com site, I called around to two stores in my town. One didn't receive any - duh! The other had only two in stock, so I zoomed down to grab it. Now I'm sooo fricking in LOVE with my Curve!

Default Sweet Curve!

Have had the curve since yesterday - it's a damn sweet phone!! No problems with it whatsoever. The camera function is fricking awesome - clear, sharp, sending and receiving - no probs, as well with other functions. LED flasher is fine and bright. I guess I got a perfect one! Too bad that others are having problems with it but hopefully they get it fixed somehow. That's all from me to report.

Love the differences between the 8800...

- more tactile keyboard (I instantly found it easier to type)
- 3.5mm jack
- full screen video
- more user friendly and intuitive music/media player
- seemingly sturdier construction
- camera takes great shots (in good light)

however, annoyed by...
- must remove battery to remove microSD card
- missing GPS
- no swivel case included

Also quickly A-B'd the 8300 against my Meizu M6 player and found the audio output to be excellent. It's all in the headphones! The OEM 8800 headphones are absolute crap.
