Default How to Move BES Express users from Test BESX Server to Production BESX Server

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and fairly new to BES so please be gentle

For the past few months, I've had a handful of users on a test BESX server. The time has now come to (a) move those handful of users from the Test BESX server to a new production BESX server. The BESX server is seperate to our Exchange 2003 server.

I was hoping that someone might explain the best way to move these users currently on the Test BESX server to the new production BESX server. I have installed BESX on the production server but the 2 BESX server (test and production) do not see each other so I'm unable to 'move' the users as I hoped I would using the "Switch BlackBerry user to different BlackBerry Enterprise Server".

Thanks in advance for any advice, pointer, hints etc.

You have to make them both use the same shared database for that to happen.

You can try using transporter to move them over.

Using remote SQL or is it on the BES server?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. It's appreciated.

The database is local to each BESX server so I essentially have 1 on the Test BESX server and now a new one on the production BESX server.

Can I also ask, do the 2 BESX server need separate licenses or can I use the same License details for each. I think I know the answer (need separate details for each) but if you could confirm.

Thanks again.

yes they need separate SRP license, but you can get a copy for free.
