Got ours today, came in a retail box. Its style is identical to the T-Mobile 8700's, infact if you peel back the plastic under the battery you can see where the SIM card would go (although no real slot) complete with SIM card icon LOL. It seems to wiegh a couple grams more then the GSM's. Nice phone, but the Verizon theme is crap, changed that first.

Cause they want ALL verizon devices to have their "markings". Don't worry, once the OS is out we'll get the Zen.

Default LED Coverage

I've noticed twice today that for some reason, after the screen blanks out, sometimes the green LED stops flashing. When it happens, I have to turn the radio OFF/ON for it to flash again. Have to watch for this one.

Thanks Eagle for posting those benchmark results...does anyone know the test results for the 7130 or 7250 for comparison?

What is the problem? You may want to search the RIM Software forum for Outlook 2007

I actually like the VZ theme for occaisonal in office use. It's not good at all outdoors, but I like the spicy red in the office sometimes.

Looks like similar results to the 7130e and much slower than the 8700c & 8700g.

What I don't like about the VZ theme is the message screens have that blue tint instead of white. Makes reading things a bit difficult. I took the 8700 Dimension-Icon theme from Plazmic, and used the icons from the Bliss theme posted by mrogers. Looks/functions very well on my 8703.

Sure hope jibi can get the 4.1.0.344 software to make the zen & today themes available.

does the phone feel in anyway sluggish? i hope this phone can compare to the cingular model, as a buddy of mine who works with me has it and it would bug the sh@t out of me if mine was a turd.

i presume there is always the 15 day policy, with that policy, if i were to find the phone that i ordered not suitable for me, can i return it to a verizon corporate store and not mail it back in

I'm getting my 8703 tomorrow, and I will be very, VERY disappointed if the unit is slow or in any way sluggish. Why in the hell VZW would not use the Intel chipset is beyond me.

Worse comes to worst, I keep my 7130e.

Agreed. What are the first impressions of the unit? I've seen short blurbs like "fantastic!" on other forums, but nobody has really posted their thoughts on their new arrival.

I tired after spending a few hours today getting everything transferred over from my 7103. Now my new 8703 is charging.

For those of us coming from the 71xx world, I STRONGLY suggest checking out Stinsonddog's Blackberry Tips document. The link is in his signature!
