Cingular, gmail is set up for POP.

I don't to see the reason to forward because now POP is just is fast. Plus with the POP set up I can delete from handheld and choose if I want it deleted from the server too so it never shows up in my inbox if I don't want it to. Not sure, but I don't think that works when you have it forwarded.

my 8100 is not "linked" with my company's BES, but i'm retreieving it thru our company's internet webmail access site, but emails only comes in like every 15-20 min. Is there anyway i can get it in a faster loop? or do i have to bug our blackberry admin for this??

I have this problem on some days with OWA and BIS... others it works perfect.

I suggest letting it work the bugs out for a week. I am only 4 days into using my OWA via BIS, and its gotten better every day.

Attachment emails seem to slow things down... i bet yuo can setup a filter or sumseen.

I use AOL email and I've been thinking of getting the Pearl with T-Mobile. AOL is IMAP. Has anything changed with regard to IMAP in the last 2 years?

I used to have a 7100g with Cingular and basically the web client checked my email every 15 minutes and then forwarded the emails to my Blackberry. If I deleted it on the Blackberry, it would still be in my Inbox when I got to my computer. There was no way to delete it from my online inbox from the Blackberry.

Is it still like this, or does the new BIS handle IMAP better now? And if so, what does it do exactly that is different?

My Pearl ALWAYS gets gmail the instant I receive one it seems like. Way before my desktop.

The problem for me with Gmail is that mail sent FROM the BB seems to be stuck with the Gmail email address in the From field, no matter how you set it up on the BIS.

This problem your reporting is history now. Cingular fixed it.

I'm using a 7130c with Yahoo Mail Plus and it's super fast. Arrives at both my computer and the BB at the exact same instant. Reconciliation is also instant. True push mail. No delays whatsoever....

I use Yahoo Mail Plus and a Cingular 7130c. When I read an email on my BB, it shows up as read on my computer. When I delete an email from my BB it is also deleted from the Yahoo Inbox view in my computer. In true push mail fashion when I recieve and email it appears on my computer & BB at the exact same instant. Fast, and very stable. I could not be happier...
