I know i have seen this on the forums somewhere before, but what is the difference between grayed out WiFi Icon and when its fully enabled. I'm on rogers so no UMA
I might not understand your question, but if wifi is greyed out, it means you aren't on wifi, you are just on your standard service through your provider.
If it's greyed out, you are not connected. If it's normal color (black) then you are connected. Also, next to your carrier name, it will display "- WiFi Network Name ". I hope this answers your question.
Not so. Do you have the name of the wifi network on the screen? If so, the device is connected to the wifi, even if greyed out. The bolded wifi means you have a connection to the wifi and a Blackberry data connection through the wifi as well. Bold wifi vs. greyed wifi is the same as the difference between EDGE and edge.
Mine is not connected at the moment and it is greyed out. So basically your saying there is no icon change during connection but rather when edge/EDGE or UMA is established?
The logo doesn't change color when just connected to your router/internet. It's connected when it shows the name of the wifi network. Bold means a data connection is established over the wifi. UMA means you have voip.
Hmm... mine went normal (or bold) when connected but didn't change when it went UMA. In other words, it did go normal (or bold) after it made connection but no icon change after UMA connection.
