I am having problems opening .pdf files on my device. I tried to send myself a .pdf file to my device. I cannot open the file, and rather than a .pdf format it shows on my device as a .dat format? I have installed BeamReader, but not sure how to use it. Help?

Highlight the attachment, click the menu button, select open with beamreader. On mine it's called beamberry since I have Beamsuite, but I imagine it's the same functionality wise. The included Docs to go should open it, though not as a PDF, as a JPG or something. You can still see it, and the show text option will let you dial numbers in the body of the PDF. Personally, if you must open it in a native PDF reader, I think you are better off to upgrade docs to go and use the free Cortado Workplace for the other things Beamsuite claims to do but doesn't.

The free docs to go doesn't open pdf attachments, unless I'm wrong. But the native email app should open the pdf attachment, but not with the features you would have with the premium docs to go. Plus, the premium docs to go would allow you to open pdf files from memory (main or microSD).

If you can't open a pdf attachment just using the native messaging app (and plus you are not seeing the file as a .pdf but instead a .dat file), I would try resending service books and testing again.

I'm not familiar with BeamReader.

You are likely right. I meant the included file opener. Whether it is part of the messaging app or docs to go I have no clue. If I click on a PDF in an email it opens as a tiny, unreadable screen sized image. Repeatedly clicking the trackpad blows it up, but you have to wait a bit for it to focus.

Ridiculous that BB does not have native PDF support in the "file->open" manner of Beamreader. Half the time the email attachments are illegible at best.
