Google Sync for BlackBerry
Please Login to Remove!
I would be interested in hearing the experience anyone has had using Google Sync for BlackBerry. I have been syncing my contacts and calendars with BlackBerry Desktop manager. If I install Google Sync for BlackBerry, I do not want to duplicate contacts and calendar entries on my BlackBerry.

I use Google Sync to keep the calendars on my MacBook, BB, office PC, home PC and wife's PC all in sync. Do not use it for contacts since those are relatively static. Works great other than an occasional dupe.

Do you have Google Sync for BlackBerry on your BlackBerry? I assume Google Apps Sync for Outlook on your PCs?

I use GMail Sync on my BB and love it. Imported all my Nokia Contacts vie Outlook to GMail and then synced. I'm just concerned that it is killing my battery - I don't get many hours from my battery.

Text problem - is it related to google sync?
I installed googlesync last week so that i could use the calendar function. It worked just fine. However, since then my texts won't send (sit as pending in my SMS folder) and some people don't receive, whilst others seem to keep getting the same text over and over!
Does anyone have any ideas about what to do to stop this? I've tried deleting the application, but can't figure out how, nor seem to be able to find any instructions.

you delete the application by going to options - advanced - applications and highlighting the app and clicking menu - delete.

i searched for threads [keyword: google apps synch], and results yielded subjects ranging from apps [as in software] to syncing with a gmail account [vs. Google Apps account].
does BB have a native single sign-on/set-up wizard [vs.3rd party] to sync with my Google Apps domain and its related services [xxx@arirangonline.com] or does wizard only allow for "xxxx@gmail.com" input?
my paradigm comes from windows mobile 6.5, and activesync configures easily and works seamlessly with google sync--contacts, calendar, mail.
comments, links, appreciated. thanks in advance.

Google Sync will only synchronize with the BlackBerry's default calendar.

Multiple Calendars

I use multiple Google calendars - my primary, my secondary, my wife's, and US Holidays. Events from all four are displayed on my PC's Google calendar. Within the last hour I updated Google Sync on my Verizon BlackBerry Curve and synchronized my calendar. Even though Sync reported that it processed only the "default calendar", events from all four calendars now appear on the BlackBerry calendar.

I get from device to Google but, how about google to device. I have Travel, Work, Personal, Holiday ETC on Google. Currently I use desktop sync to get all on my device?

Yes you can sync your calendars from Google to the Blackberry. When you go into the settings on the Google Sync app, you have an option for calendars to sync. It will usually only show your main calendar however, if you click on it, it will bring up a list of all of your calendars and you can choose which ones to sync to your blackberry. Works pretty good, sometimes I get some duplicates which are bothersome but overall works as advertised.
