Hi Everyone

I have a blackberry bold 9700 that wont make or receive calls or texts.

I ve had the sim changed- no change.

I am absolutely sure that its something to do with the settings as incoming calls go to voicemail (which I cant reach) and I am getting emails.

I can make calls from another handset ok.

I have tried removing the battery and re booting.

Appreciate any help. Thanks

Yes worked perfectly before. Hasnt got wet or been dropped.

I did change providers and the vodafone shop input details. It did work for about 2 days after and then problems started.

Has it been reported as lost/stolen to your carrier?

No. It has been unblocked though but that was prior to changing providers.

I'd call your original carrier and see if they reinstated the block for some reason. This definitely sounds like either a hardware failure or something on the carrier side.

They can make all kinds of mistakes with user accounts. Most are fairly benign and can be corrected with a simple call. As for unblocking it yourself, if it was indeed blocked by the carrier, no. You cannot unblock it yourself.

Thanks. The thing is it is second hand. If there is a problem with the history (I dont know original carrier) can it be irreversably unlocked or is this likely to go on, one unlokks, the other locks.

If the carrier has blocked it (which is different that locking/unlocking) then they will not unblock it.

Call your carrier.
