Default 9700 issues

I've got to say that they 9700 series has it's flaws. I'm on my 3rd one and the first one there was an issue with lighting as the alt key wouldn't light up in the dark and the "E" button wasn't working .... second one there was an issue with a couple of buttons as they were raised and you could see light coming out from the bottom .... On my 2rd one I have found that the trackpad is slighty in at the top so catching my thumb each time i scroll up and the answer button isn't as smooth as the rest and sort of creaks when pressed ....... bloody BB!!

Anyone else had to return their BB's due to faults or problems? Why don't they check the phones before sending them out !!!!!

im on my 3rd also. first one had a bad camera key and the second one had a bad end key. and it really wouldn't be very practical to check every device. but i have heard of a lot of people having problems. so maybe some better quality control is in order!

Quality control at RIM has been lacking in the last few years.

Blackberry qulaity is still better than a lot of other manufacturers. Nokia's and Sony Ericssons dont seem amazing at the moment for build quality. i think manufacturers are cutting costs to make more profit out of the phones nowadays which is really affecting the quality.
I am on my 1st 9700 and the quality of the finish on it is very high but I have seen quite a few threads complaining about them.

Sony Ericsson has had a tough year. I've never heard so many customer complaints about one brand.

Because in Russia, you don't check the phone... the phone checks you! Or something like that. Actually, that's probably not the reason at all, so nevermind.
