No, I didn't forget those. For perspective, please consider that Verizon Wireless has exactly four "featurephones" with physical QWERTY keyboards out of the 101 total devices that they sell. That's 4%. Anyway, this argument isn't really germaine to the discussion and the point remains that the OP really will not find exactly what they're looking for.

The iphone faceplate option you mentioned gave me an idea. Well not for iphone per se, but the option to get a phone that suits my needs, and then managing to get a luxury casing isnt so bad, and should be cheaper i reckon.

Since most of all i care about design, i should be spending 1,5k euro for a metal+leather casing if i decide to go for p9981.

Instead I could get a lesser phone and just find such a case. I have an old BB9000. what if i could get a case that looks like the one porsche design makes? Or i could get a used 9700, which is even better than the old 9000, and get a casing of my needs. I could easily pay 200-400 if i could get a steel+leather casing that looks neat and professional.

Any suggestions?

Ok so i might have found a godd deal for a used unit, and i could be buying it after all. Before i make any haste decision, are there any reasons not to buy this? Since i'm not big on money and this goes beneath my spending habits, i plan on buying if it means i will be using it for a very long time. As i said i dislike touch-screen smartphones and this looks like it is going to be one of the last keyboard phones out there, build quality looks fine, i only wonder if phone like capabilities are what they should be. That means, good network coverage, lasting battery, clear speakerphone, software features should be rich. Am i covered in all of the above?

BB10 will have a keyboard model come out in a few months, more info to come on Jan 30th.

Well i meant in the luxury type, and i also considered one of the last, since fewer and fewer have buttons these days.

As for features could i get function like silence a call by hovering my hand or rejecting by fliping the phone over and similar stuff that the smasung galaxy 3 can do? Does anybody know about that?

The 9981 is the ONLY luxury BlackBerry device. Make sure the PIN is not associated with the previous owner's account or else you won't be able to set up data services. Ideally you would meet the seller for the handoff at a carrier store and make sure you can set it up on your account before handing over the money.

BTW why is the headphone jack on the side? Am i supposed to carve a hole on the leather case to have headphones in when phone is on the case?
