How well does the data work on the 8800 with tmobile?

I was with tmobile and switched to Cingular when I got my 8800. The problem I am having is that often my data stops working even though I have 5 bars and EDGE. I have to turn off the wireless and back on or the power off and on etc before it kicks in again. I have heard of similiar issues with other users on Cingy. Seems like the more I use the data the more it happens. When I move to different parts of the city of SF it can happen once I come out of the underground muni.
I never had this problem once with tmobile. The only problem I had with tmobile is the data didnt seem to come in as fast and smooth. Like when brosing google maps it would be smooth and then pause etc depening on the time of the day.
Same here, in fact I switched to T-mobile and then realized that they only offer GPRS in my area no EDGE. I was a little concerned about that, but I have had no data issues since I had the 8100 and now the 8800. And have not noticed any real "slow down" not having EDGE.
