I'm having the same issue on my AT&T Curve 8300. OS 4.2.2.173.

Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException

Get this when ever I save preferences in Main Options and Assign Colors. Does not crash when Setting the Schedule or Filters.

Mind you the error appears to occur after saving the options. Upon relaunching the program, the settings are what was saved.

EDIT: Alerts ARE working for me, though. Just an annoying crash when saving prefs.

I'm getting the same java error when saving preferences. It also deletes my alert log,and stops alerting me for emails and texts.

Default buzzer doesn't work

My curve is saying that the buzzer isn't supported. The only audible alert that works is the audio. It's not very loud. Any suggestions on something louder? Other than that, it works great.

thanks.

Wirelessly posted (mikeBerry 7130e: BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

It looks like the java error crashes the app... If you go back into bbalerts and let it start up, the just 'back button' out of it, the alerts should work...

I use Profile, and have never tried the others. Using Profile should create a new category within each sound Profile (Normal, Vibrate, etc.). That doesn't work for you?

The only anomaly I have right now with v1.61 (but had it with 1.60 too), is the occasional log message that says something like "unknown inbound message, type 43". It's not worded like that exactly because I cleared the error already but it's worded roughly like that. Doesn't seem to do any harm though as it doesn't refer to SMS or email.

I get those events as well, Klotar. Sometimes one or two, sometimes several in a row.

I've noticed that sometimes the sound alert will occur and sometimes it will not. Not consistent. THe LED alerts without issues.

Yes, calendar alerts work for me too, although I forgot to even set it initially until someone else mentioned it (was too excited over the email filtering, heh).

Beware that This version only works on 4.2.2 or 4.3 right now.

Steve
Sorry for this question... but I've been dieing for the feature mentioned in 1.61 and I've downloaded the *.jad file but not sure what to do next? I have desktop manager 4.3 and when I click on add application it is looking for an alx or ali file. when I try to load the jad I get an xml error. Can someone help?

Use your Blackberry's browser to download the file, instead of your home PC's desktop browser. This would be what you call an OTA download. This version is only available OTA.

How do they work for you? I have calendar reminders setup an hour before my meetings. I have a 15 minute snooze. I have bbalerts setup to notify every 10 minutes. I have calendar LED set in profiles to none. I have calendar reminder checked and I don't get any LED response from bbalerts like I do for sms, email, etc...or reminder of missing the calendar reminder.

His server isn't up 24/7, keep trying at different times throughout the day.

Got an odd issue...if I receive a call (even if I answer it) my red light starts blinking - I've designated Red for missed calls.

The only way to clear the red led is by going into "Assign Colors" in BB Alerts and scrolling down through the custom color section.

I'm on 1.61 on 4.3.0.81 Alltel OS on my Pearl.

Anyone else? Any ideas for a fix?

ok I d/l 1.6x but when I go to install it says I'm missing cod file? I tried using the cod file from my 1.4 package and it appears to install 1.6 but when I check the version it's still 1.4.

I know I'm new to this... can someone help?
