Default New 8310...low earpiece volume blues.

Please Login to Remove!

Just got my new red 8310...and I am very happy to be back to the BlackBerry after using several different phones. I am really stoked with the phone...as I was with my original 8300, except for one area...the low volume of the earpiece speaker. My 8300 was 3-4 times louder than this new 8310...and I even tried to exchange it for a new one today, except the new one was as low or even lower than mine!! I have some hearing loss in my right, or "phone ear"...so a loud volume is essential.

And, yes...I have used the side volume keys to set the volume on maximum.

Is anyone having this same problem? I have heard something about taking a pin and sticking it into the holes in the earpiece screen...but I don't want to screw the speaker up by jacking with it.

How can I improve the volume?

That's odd, mine is really loud. I have to accually turn it down.Try using the other ear that might be your solution.

Mine is really loud too. I actually tout this as a benefit of the BBs, since my 7520 is excessively loud too....

Wow. Mine is pretty loud and I have to turn it down sometimes. I have bad ears too so that says a lot coming from me.

I went into options and set the default volume option at 100%...and it made enough improvement that I can hear now without too much difficulty. I am still not as happy with the volume of the 8310 as I was on my 8300...but I guess it's still a keeper.

Besides, I don't really want to hassle with reloading the apps I have in place, the wallpapers and the ringtones...

Maybe something is wrong with the speaker on yours. Mine is so darn loud I had to turn it down to prevent from going deaf.

Wink had the same problem too

I was having this same volume problem with the handset....it started yesterday (Thanksgiving day!) and so I thought my FRiday would be busy having this taken care of. But today (Friday) after reading this post, I tried the needle on the speaker and afterwards, it is working. Now I don't know if it was really the needle that fixed it or it fixed itself overnight, but now I can go abt with my shopping plans
