My pearl is slowly dying on me. I fear if I wait for the cdcma bold I will be waiting until next spring. Should I just spring for the curve now? Or worth the wait?

I'm sure it's coming, eventually. The good thing is, any problems (and there will be, I'm sure of it) in the original Bold will be fixed and improved when the CDMA model come out.

You could wait for the Thunder on Verizon...

It is sure to come out before the CDMA Bold

Definitely the Curve, considering it's actually out in the world while the CDMA Bold hasn't even been considered. The Thunder could end up being pretty sweet, too. Is it still rumored for November?

Considering we're still waiting for the GSM Bold, I'd say a Curve is the way to go.

What I have seen is the BOLD (AT&T) should be out this month... VZW's release date is showing as Q1 2009... That usually means March/April... So the 'next spring' guy wins the prize in my book...

I have heard alot of issues with the multimedia apps on the Curve... Does the Pearl perform better?

And more importantly, does anyone have a release date on OS 4.5 for VZW?

Hey Serpentine009,

Go for it - the CURVE that is. I couldn't be happier with mine. Especially the PUSH e-mail. It is fantastic! Even though I'm a certified BB addict aka CrackBerry, I didn't realize how good it is.

There will not be a CDMA bold for at least a year after the release at AT&T. I spoke with a RIM employee a month ago when I got to play around with the bold for a few minutes. The bold will be exclusive at AT&T for one year. The thunder at Verizon for one year. The kickstart will go to T-Mobile but he did not say that it would be exclusive so your best bet will be to hope for a CDMA Kickstart. Other than that he said he had heard nothing for Sprint

Kickstart or Javelin to T-Mobile. So many code names. So many rumors.

Well that is quite different from what has been reported. The Thunder is suppose to be a lifetime exclusive with Verizon providing they meet certain sales quotas, which I'm sure they will. This "RIM employee" may not have the facts.

It is the network, CDMA and GSM are the 2 that the US and Canada use.

As an AT&T customer, you are on a GSM network, as a Verizon customer, I am on a CDMA network.

You could be right. I'm just writing what he told me.
