Download CNN or ABC Videos OTA
Please Login to Remove!
I have not seen this mentioned on this site.
I read that it seems if you are running 4.2 OS or higher, you can now download CNN or ABC videos OTA. I tried it and was successful, so it really does work.
From your device
1) http://CNN.com
Go to Top Video and click.
2) ABC News: Online news, breaking news, feature stories and more
Go to any category in the video section.

Tried it on 8700g with OS 4.2 and I get javascript error from the BB browser. Pretty much have everything enabled in the browser options, but popups. Even tried enabling popups, but still no luck.
EDIT: That was on the mobile CNN site. I did hard reset and then went back to site. Now don't even see video link. So, deleted history, cache and cookies. Still don't see video link. Also, have never seen a video link on the ABC mobile site. FWIW.

That's what I thought..... then I thought it is an OS issue, so gave it a try.

Thank you. My hope is that more sites of this kind will become available and we can rid of ourselves of having to always be dependent on a PC, DM and of course the dreaded wire.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830: BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)
CNN Video site from mobile is much more user friendly. Then must have done some sort of upgrade in the past 24 hrs

This has been available for a couple of weeks. I heard about it at that "other" place. It is definately a great new feature along with the 3gpToGO which allows you tube downloads.

That's where I have the problem. I can select any of the videos showing a thumbnail on that page, and then get a page showing a large headframe of the clip, but when I click on "click here to download video", I get the error message every time. Same behavior on CNN and ABC.

I've tried all these links offered in this post. I have an 8830 from Verizon running the latest OS which is: 4.2.2.148
All I get is this:
HTTP Error 504: Gateway Timeout
The Gateway timed-out while waiting for a response from the server. Please try loading a different page. Contact your service provider if this problem persists.

That happened the first time I tried to access it. Then I went to "Go to" and selected Change Browser. Once I set it to Internet Browser, instead of BlackBerry Browser, it worked fine.
