I just received an email from a blackberry address saying I am one of the lucky 1 of 1000 winners of a free 8120 from T-Mobile.

I signed up for the promotion a month or so ago and I am totally psyched!

According to the email it could take up to 30 days to receive my new blackberry.

That would make it my 6th berry.

man I love free berries...

Just spoke to a T-Mobile representative. They seem to have no clue about this promotion!

Although I do remember accessing the promotion through the 'tmobile online' website!??!

The email I received instructs us to reply to: "NextGenPearl@maritz.com"

The TMOBILE representative claimed that if it was a TMOBILE promotion, the email should've been from "xxxx@tmobile.com".

This makes me feel, all these emails we have received might actually be phishing emails or some sort of a hoax.

Well , Maritz is a reasonably well respected market research and customer loyalty shop with offices around the US -- HQ in St. Louis I believe -- so if the email is truly from Maritz it is probably a genuine promotion. Probably a promo for ad or PR purposes.
